I’m internally at one with the universe. Very zen.
Well if there’s anything left on day 2, I may be a buyer … just don’t tell my wife.
hangs up phone…
Yes, Sonoe. It’s brutal. I keep getting these “revised” bills from FedEx where everything goes up, up, up with extra charges retroactively. And if you try to fight, it’s just like trying to extract teeth.
We need a dedicated DTC door-to-door temperature controlled solution that only does wine. We’re now paying for the infrastructure that’s built for speedy delivery with FedEx/UPS, but our customers would much rather have a cold chain delivery that might take 2-3 weeks, than a 3-4 day delivery that’s not temp controlled. We’re paying for speed we don’t need.
Maybe I can do a little trip to Silicon Valley and see if anyone would bite? ![]()
If such a solution were possible on a large enough scale to make it worth while, it would be pretty epic. I have no actual desire to ever get my wine quickly and would far rather have economical cool chain delivery. Heck, I don’t need 56 degrees even for a few weeks. Just keep it reasonable at like 65-70 and I’d be a happy camper. I think most people realize at this point wine doesn’t have to be 56 at all times to prevent spoilage.

We’ll have to roll that over to a year where we make a profit. ![]()
Yeah, here we go with the shipping costs complaints again…I can promise as a (VERY) small business owner that the struggles and frustrations are real with regards to UPS/FedEx. The amounts charged are insane, and clearly small family-or-individually owned wineries can’t absorb those costs, which sucks.
I mean, UPS struggled last year with ONLY $7.9billion in profit, and FedEx a paltry $4.3billion. How can we ask them to be kind to small businesses when they are barely making it? ![]()
Added this sticky, hoping the generosity of this community continues so we can help this incredible charity during the event

How do we verify people have in fact enrolled for the monthly contribution? And, I assume, people can theoretically purchase more than 1 lot/monthly contribution?
Unless they post anonymously, if you scroll down on the Love146/WB landing page, you see the donor list. If they are anonymous they can just send a copy of the email confirmation.
It’s all outlined in this thread:
Specifically, from that thread:
I don’t see why not!
Hi Y’all. BIG THANKS to my regulars in Florida for emailing me to see if I’d participate
I’m in!! Better get busy making deal links work …
Got it! I’m on a bit of a stay-cation which means I’m busier in some ways than normal life so hard time keeping up with everything.
Glad to see you back!!!
I stand corrected: 49 offers now
I’m in PA (working with a vintage glass antique dealer), but I don’t start until noon EDT tomorrow, so that should give me time to get through the MC offers and purchase.
Yeah, you should buy some stuff from a Wine Berserkers event for once!!

(for those who don’t know, Sheila is a multi-platinum winning BerserkerDay MVP)
To reiterate, how VinDependence Days works:
Friday: Monopole Crü members only.
Saturday: Grand Cru Crü members join.
Sunday: Open to everyone.
I will send group PMs out to each group on the day they have access, around 7am ish Pacific. Nowhere near as much ‘housekeeping’ as I have on BerserkerDay so it should be pretty close to that time, as I’ll have little need to put out early morning fires, make last minute changes, etc.
Offer threads appear as each group gets access, so links above will fill in day by day. Anyone can join Monopole Crü or Grand Cru Crü at any time, including right now if you’d rather not wait.
Todd, I guess I’m a little confused. When you send the notice out in the morning (for MC), will it link to a thread or forum with the offers? Or should I look for a thread to appear in Wine Talk? Or maybe on the main page?
