What rose are you drinking?

That is a very interesting wine!

Tercero of course! - Mourvedre.

Buchegger “Terrassen” - A blend of Zweigelt, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.

Guilty pleasure, maybe I should not like it but I really do!

Mid-weight, remarkably high acidity, ripe peach and blood orange and some bubblegum with a sense of pithy bitterness. This is tasty, but the acidic bite and bit of bitterness (which I’m sensitive to) are a little much for me this evening and temper my enthusiasm a little. My wife likes it, so maybe we’ll try another and see if my palate was just off this evening.

Why not? I’ve always liked this one. Price has gone up, but it used to be a go to.

2024 Arnot Roberts Rose - lovely pale salmon color. Crisp and delicious. Even though it’s a bit chilly today in the shade here in Chicago, the sun is out and it’s after noon on a holiday. Ergo, a good time for a nice rose.

Not at all long in the tooth. Very similar in color and body to a Cerasuolo oddly. Palate wise, reminds me of an aged Clos Cibonne. Went very well with grilled merguez.

I get the Blackbird rosé as well. It runs $25 from the winery and retail is right at that as well.

Great in the South Carolina heat under a covered porch.

Really enjoying the Clos Mogador rosé. It’s really a large wine and needs food. A composed dish with grouper works really well.

We also enjoyed it (with thanks for your previous TN/recommendation), although we found it was OK without food too. But where I am it is ~US$50/bottle, which is a bit pricey for me as a daily drinker.

Paul, you’re 100% correct! The Mogador is not a porch pounder or are multiple bottles opened at a time like the Blackbird. It’s treated in a more strategic way like we would Domaines Ott or Garrus.

2018 Clos Cibonne Cru Classe Cuvée Tradition

I don’t track wine inventory which can be both exciting and a problem. I was putting some wines away the other day and found this bottle and thought to check in.

Aromas are muggy in a good way. Apricot, honeycomb, Grand Marnier. A nuttiness and bitter orange marmalade on taste. Edges are softening, with enough nerve left to keep it moving along. I really enjoyed this and if I had more, I’d love to see this again next spring.

I have already consumed 2 of my 4 bottles :frowning:

I picked up two six packs of this release but I already know that wasn’t enough.

Our turn with the Sabelli-Frisch 2021 Eserra White Zin.

Lovely wine. We’ve been on a bit of a rose kick recently and this fit right in.

This is a wishlist wine for me. Happy to hear it’s nice!

Excessive heat in Las Vegas today, so opening a Rose was a no-brainer, and an Ode to Lulu was the obvious choice!
