This is amazing but I bet it’s even better next year. Going to try to hold on to some.
How did I miss this?
How is this? Ive had a bottle of 2021 sitting around for a while (along with some of their main Palette rosé)
Ahh, I just moved this to my fridge. Now I’m second guessing opening it soon!
If you haven’t had one yet you should try it.
I thought it was sold in six packs?
Two of this one and four of the Kirschenbloom rose in the six pack.
I split a 6, so I only have the one! The other was fantastic though.
I would give it more time.
Apparently it’s not their second wine, just a different vineyard, with the same care and winemaking. A similar blend but with 20% Merlot (the main wine has none).
Quite similar to the main wine, possibly a bit short on the intensity. A trace of varnish on the nose (I find it in many Provence roses), a feint candy note. But all in all a worthy contender.
Chris! Nice to see you posting here. I love aged Clos Cibonne, though historically I’ve really only left the Vignettes for that long. Nice to know the “regular” bottling can go for a while as well, though upon reflection I’m not surprised in the slightest. If you want to drink some more older Cibonne, you know where to find me!
Love me a more ‘savory’ rose most of the time!
Cheers
I don’t drink much Rose but would love to try these 2017 (had both the 17/18 for comparison) in blind tasting with the perceived best and a bit of age. Depth, complexity, salinity, fruits, herbal notes, just balanced along with a long finish.

Pierre Menard Rougetta 2023, Anjou
Mostly Cabernet Franc, with some Grolleau and Chenin. Not your pool side perfumed easy drinker, halfway between rose and red. Fully ripe tangy berries, rose petals, peat, dense and weighty yet with moderate %. Not unlike L’Anglore Tavel.
2021 Blankiet rose. Looking forward to trying the 2023
2022 Ameztoi Getariako Txakolina Rubentis
A 5th generation producer located in Northern Spain specializing in indigenous grapes and old winemaking methods. A blend Hondarribi Zuri and Hondarribi Beltza from the Basque region of Spain. The Beltza grapes are sourced from a vineyard planted in 1840. Opened on Father’s Day. A pinkish orange color. This had a slight spritz in the glass with a very interesting herbal or vegetal quality that I found very appealing. Medium bodied with a fine acidity. 90 points.
