What Bedrock wine are you drinking tonight?

I opened a ‘14 bedrock heritage as well, had in decanter for 45min, and then it was consumed over the next hour. The last sips were the best ones. I was rushed and didnt have enough time as everyone was thirsty lol. Everyone loved it. Happy and sad i only have 1 left.

2022 Bedrock Dolinsek

I went to the Marlins opening day game on Friday so my wife decided to have two glasses while I was at the game. I finished the bottle yesterday…….

Just a beautiful bottle of wine. Dark cherry, good amount of orange peel, a pinch of baked spices, nice dose of acidity all dancing nicely with each other. Such a joy to drink.

If I could only have three wines from Bedrock, would likely go with Dolinsek, Bedrock Vnyd, Evangelho. But then there’s Old Hill, and Sky, and Nervo, and Lulu…good thing this is just a mental exercise.

Sadly corked.

2012 Cuvee Karatas. Dark golden, almost orange color. Honey, apricot, some crispness. I think this is still going strong but not sure how long these should age. I have 1 bottle left from 2012.

Thanks for this! Im in the same boat…never know when I’m supposed to open these.

IIRC, the 2012 Karatas was also in the early Covid-era drop that MTP and CC did in late spring/early summer 2020. Looks like I popped one of the library release bottles in July 2020 and my tasting note was very enthusiastic, so it was in the zone for sure 6 years ago at age 8…

Thanks! The only one i have opened so far was corked so i dont have any strong reference points.

Popped 2022 Dolinsek last night. Less exuberant than on first release and has tightened on the palate. Fruit notes are darker and savory character is more prominent at this stage. Hold.

Was just looking at one of these and considering popping this weekend- appreciate the update! Will hold off for a few years.

This was my third bottle of the 12 Karatas - definitely darker/more orange color than the last two. I drank it over two nights (corked and put in the fridge after day 1), and noted some slight what I think was oxidation flavors on day 2. This was my last bottle that I bought upon release. My remaining bottle I bought during the library release. Semillion can age of course, and I don’t have enough experience with the grape, but drinking sooner rather than later may be the way to go if this bottle was any indication.

2010 Monte Rosso Zinfandel

This was soooo damn good! Bedrock perfume in spades, and beautifully integrated and lifted purple fruits, cinnamon, and a hint of something almost floral on the finish. Medium +/ Full - bodied with just the right amount of acidity. Drinking at absolute peak right now but I have the feeling it will hold at a similar level for a long, long time. A perfect example of why we age these wines.

Excellent!! Definitely could have passed for a 2019 or younger based on the color.
