2013 Alder Springs Syrah. Thought this would be great with some wagyu short rib pastrami but sadly this bottle was off. Just seemed thin and hollow with not much going on, win some lose some. The Elivette was on point, Sandlands was showing well but I’m sitting on any remaining for some time.
No note but 2018 Dolinsek is rockin’ right now.
Still tasted super young on my last bottle last year sometime, but it was delicious.
Had the 2019 Bedrock Heritage out of 375ml the other night. This needed lots of air - the classic ‘last glass was the best’ bottle- but was still delicious. Still plenty of structure here and maybe it’s barely entering prime drinking window?
I’m slowly coming to the realization that this might be my favorite wine Bedrock makes, and I rarely get more than 1-2 bottles each release. Clearly gotta change that. I still love Evangelho but maybe I love Bedrock Vineyard more?
Did anyone see, better yet attend, the Dolinsek tasting (2012-2021) Bedrock did at the tasting house with Jim Dolinsek. I got to be believe that was a fantastic night. If anyone attended, I would love to hear your thoughts on the various vintages.
@Morgan_Twain-Peterson - Any thoughts on doing a write up on drinkability of the vintages or better yet a podcast - I know you have nothing better to do.

Summer is over
Last box of rose from bedrock. Placed with my dirty dishes which makes it worse. Sigh
Big fan of Martinelli. Big fan of Bedrock. Both worlds collided for this Banfield, first release ever for Bedrock. The fruit is from the Jackass vineyard complex, which has me wondering if some of the fruit is from the Jackass Hill Vineyard ($200 bottle). Nonetheless, the wine was incredible. A little more stuffing than the normal Bedrock style, akin to their Pagani bottlings of years past. This needs to sit but is packed with dark rich fruit, plenty of structure, great acidity and freshness. Really digging this wine.
Working through the 2019 Bien Nacido Chardonnay right now, has me really glad I grabbed a few of the most recent (and last) release
2023 Bedrock Sauvignon Blanc Judge Family Vineyard
Very crisp SB, good acid with green apple and grapefruit pith on finish. It has much of what some of us like about these wines and little of what some of us find objectionable about many or most of them.
2020 Bedrock Wine Co. Heritage Bedrock Vineyard
Pop n’ pour into a Spiegelau Definition glass. Precise nose of cassis, black cherry, peony, black licorice, and graphite. Reminds me of a young Bordeaux aromatically but more refined, and not a hint of the citrus peel that I commonly associate with Bedrock Heritage. On the palate this is suave and glides across the palate, medium in body but with a decent concentration of plum and other purple fruits giving way to a vibrant core of leather, damp earth, and pencil lead minerality. There is some bristling acidity that carries the wine to the back of the palate and though the tannins are well integrated there remains a little bit of a snap from them suggesting this has some further aging potential.
No harm in holding this one for a few more years, but I’d err on checking in on a bottle now while the fruit is still this enjoyable. A nice, but different expression of Bedrock Vineyard than I’m used to.

I found the 2019 so hard to drink because of it. Like somebody poured Sunny D in my wine.
Ha! Yep i remember you saying that! I totally agree, the 2019 is FULL of orange peel…but i freaking love that about Bedrock Vineyard. One of the reasons it’s probably my favorite out of all their offerings! My note on the 2019 half bottle below ![]()
From 375 ml. Normally I wouldn’t be opening a 2019 Bedrock Vineyard Heritage yet as I prefer more age on them, but I needed to grab something for a quick 1-night trip with the Fam and figured it wouldn’t hurt to check in on one. Out of a half bottle, this was really nice! Still very young, but it’s a medium bodied and very structured mouthful of citrus, orange rind (the citrus/orange is VERY prominent), and dusty blue fruits with a powedery tannic finish. Love that Morgan and Chris offer these in 375’s! Better days ahead but glad that I opened this.
2018 Old Hill was pretty darn good last night, needed an hour or so in the decanter to open up a bit but from there was fragrant, concentrated, and long.
Pretty disappointing, right! Bummer because i was excited for that one ![]()
Had this the other night. Quite good. Won’t make me forget Old Hill, but definitely enjoyed it. It’s drinking well now.
I’m sure it was properly fermented.

pop and pour. Dense red fruit, blue undertones. Still greatly acidic. Drinks lighter in body than the fruit dense profile. The sweetness off the fruit is really the drive here, really showing no real sign of aging at all. Wish they were still making wine from here!
