De Negoce offer (Part 2)

That’s the problem. I’m trying to buy a case of white for a gift for someone who’s not a CA chard fan. They will be gone by March. Not sure what to buy.

the Montrachet is now about $210 FWIW

Sounds nice, but low alc % once again.

I popped on a case of n.353 Shiraz. With the BF discount it came to $13 or so per bottle which in my opinion is hard to beat for a solid aussie Shiraz. I really liked n.343 and n.279 so Cam had a solid track record in my opinion on those imports. The rest of the bottle shop is meh to me because of so many “post Cam” wines. I’m holding out to add more once we get into the 2023 vintage which should be worthy of more purchases than the last two years

Who knows who lot 520 is, but FWIW, Foppiano does make a Cabernet and a reserve Cabernet.

“Northeast Corner of RRV” = Chalk Hill AVA near Windsor on US 101.

Opened 463 sav blanc today. Well received. Wouldn’t say it had a huge amount of character but very drinkable

Jonah,
Non CA Chardonnay fans, might like the brighter non fume style (stainless or concrete fermented) Sauvignon Blancs. 475 (Napa) looks fume style - as I see “creamy” in description. Other 460 and 463 from write up appear stainless/concrete - ie no oak used. Maybe that Napa Pinot Grigio 461? That in description mentions SS tanks/ferment.

Hope that helps.
Cheers, Tim

That’s basically what I did. I bought all the SBs, but heavy on 463 because it’s the only one I’ve tried and it’s quite good (I checked 463 on CT and was disappointed to find out it only had one tasting note, not statistically useful, was shocked to find out the note was mine. I rarely post notes). I also bought the Viognier and PG

There have been 3 RRV Cabs offered over the years, all presumed to be Dehlinger.
This one is no exception; 2 years French Oak with old school [classic wine geek] style.

Just opened a Lot 72 from @Michael_Singsen to help me decide - 2018 but tastes built to age. If I didn’t already have a case of 227 from last December, I would be all over this.

227 was awesome, if this was the same winery I’d get it. But does “this boutique offering’s hyper-local distribution means it rarely makes it beyond the tasting room or wine club” fit Dehlinger? You can get Dehlinger’s chardonnay (for example) at Total Wine And More. Is this offer just trading on the how good the past few RRV Cabs have been?

Lots 72, 201 and 227 were not 100% Cabernet, like this one. Also, all three had alcohol % north of 14%.

Look at my comment above of where Northeast corner of RRV AVA is. Then look at where say “Dehlinger” is within the RRV AVA. It s most certainly not located in northeast corner of RRV AVA.

It would be my opinion that calling this 520 RRV Cab same source as 72/227 is a stretch.

Lot 72 is fantastic Cabernet- reminds me of some old school Santa Cruz Mountains Cabs from years ago.

Has anyone had any experience with Lot 450 recently? The reviews on the website make it seem very good and we are back to T1 pricing with the 30% off. But I also know that the early WB reviews were not good.

Prop Red. A nice change to have every once in a while from the straight cabs that I am loaded with. In for a sixer.

I was hoping it was carte blanche, but that would be an old school Cam hint and they’re not spring mountain. Is this when we go back and forth about it being AO?

Pulled the trigger and bought a case for the wife. Too bad she doesnt like reds…

We are in for a case, too. We’ll get to enjoy this in 6-10 years - but it sounds like the wait will be worth the cellar space.
