Thanks Scott, that one’s been a house favorite. Down to my final 2 but sounds like it’s time to check in on it again.
Same here. That last bottle of OG No. 50 I had really showed what I believe to be strong vineyard pedigree.
@Sc0tt_B
#230 is delicious ! I don’t think you will be sad to have a case of that sitting around. Sadly my inventory of that one is pretty low - only 3 left
Thank for doing this ! What a great example of the ability of AI for our purposes !
OG N.124 2018 Napa Valley Merlot
4 long years & 4 months bottled. Bottle 7/18. I knew this one STILL needed the decanter, into it 3 hours before service.
Very Nice, full bodied and luscious. Moderately complex. Powerful acid & tannins. 40% new French Oak! The Nose is opening nicely with air, with additional bottle age the nose will open up more.
One/two Yums +,
a solid wine currently, improvement expected in the fullness of time.
Said to be Freemark Abbey from the Stagecoach Vineyard!!!

N.01 - still a bit harsh and hot on opening. This needs a couple hours to breathe still. Drank 2nd half of the bottle 2 days later and it was smooth and delightful. I didn’t pay much attention to the specifics…. Always fun to drink the OG of OGs!
OG dN Lot 194 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Over 3.5 years in the bottle. 3/12, PnP.
Pours with a lightish color. Somewhat restrained nose with extra delicious RED Fruit flavors and a fine elegant structure. The cool climate of this Wooden Valley fruit has plenty of acid. This wine is refined, pretty, elegant, RED fruit deliciousness and very seductive. A beautifully balanced high end Napa CS!
3 Yums!!!
This 2019 is fantastic now. Probably will age rather well, too?

Hi Andy,
I have purchased 5-6 cabs from the new DeNegoce regime over the last 6 months and haven’t tried any yet. Can you/anyone comment on any of these for early drinking? Do any of them look promising? Lots # 490, Lot 496, 505, 515, 516, 520.
Cheers,
Peter
Last Thursday evening, Chris brings this wine found DEEP in his cellar- Hell Yeah!!
- 2017 de Négoce Cabernet Franc OG N.03 - USA, California, Napa Valley (3/6/2025)
Popped and poured for Warriors/Nets basketball game. Friend found it deep in his cellar, purchased on a de Negoce clearance sale long ago.
Nose: Delightful nose of spicy Franc, mixed with cigar.
Color: Deep dark purple still no browning at rim whatsoever.
Palate: This Cab Franc soars with black raspberry, dark cherry, chocolate mixed in with Petite Verdot tannic grip and end of long finish. We drank this wine without food. Every instance prior, I've drank this Cab Franc with food. Food elevates this wine's potential to deliver best tasting experience in my opinion. Plenty of bottle time left ahead here too. (93 points)

Friday evening with dinner. Scott Boyd provided the inspiration to locate this in my cellar. Glad I did.
- 2019 de Négoce Cabernet Sauvignon OG N.255 - USA, California, Napa Valley (3/7/2025)
Double decanted 1 hour prior to serving with dinner.
Nose: Lifted violets and cedar- really aromatic here which I find enjoyable about this Napa Cabernet.
Color: Translucent red/garnet in Bordeaux stem. Expecting a bit darker.
Palate: Here, the Cabernet's light color matches the fruit profile, more red fruit, I picked up red plum and red bing cherry. Touch of tobacco, blessed with mocha too. Modest acidity holds a nice grip on the finish. Really enjoyable Napa Cabernet. Not that Iron Fist in Velvet glove Cab, that wine drinkers seek from Napa. Touch more elegance going on here. Wine should hold another couple years in bottle. Delightful now. (91 points)

Lot n.230 is absolutely phenomenal after a 24 hour decant. I’ve bought and tried dozens of dN wines and this has to be my favorite hands down.
Totally agree. I really like this lot #.
341 2018 Australian cab. Pleasant cab, didn’t put much thought into it but enjoyed with wagyu burgers. 91. Seems ready.
486 2023 Napa Chard. My fav dn Chardonnay (my previous enjoyed were 128,130, 245, 167 328. Never had the legendary 77) . Wish I had more than the case of 486. We will try to make this last for a couple of years. Can’t really describe what I love about it but it’s delicious. I’ll buy more 2023 Chardonnays. 93.
230 and 240 are my two most purchased lots. 5 cases of 240 and 4 cases of 230. Wish I had more because I kind of treated them like cellar defenders at the beginning. Now they are just stupid good for the price so I have pulled back on opening more on a less frequent basis. Ahh… the good old days of dN with Cam…
OG N.141 2018 Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon
Realizing that this has vastly improved! This is now punching well above its $13 weight.
Very good on PnP, almost as good on Day 2. /
one yum +, maybe 2?

OG N.80 2018 2018 Napa Valley “Reserve” Cabernet Sauvignon
Well over 4 years bottled. Age it LONGER still! Or, a 24+ hour decant?
Into the decanter, very reduced nose. Did a 3 hour decant, (still reduced) then at hour 5-6, there was leather, and a hint of black fruits and plenty of tannins, and still a slightly closed nose. Nice wine, no flaws, just too closed up still.
One plus + yum for Now. I hope and TRULY expect very much better in another year+. Because Day 2 was about the same, still fine!
I fully expect 2 Yums in time.

Lot 426 | 2020 North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon
#3 of 12. Over 1 year in the bottle, PnP.
I was hopeful. First bottle was reminiscent of a Barolo? Now it’s still a bright red fruited beverage.
Not really tasting much CS here. It’s 14.8%, but not hot or very interesting to me.
No flaws, just a decent red wine at first? Then as I got halfway through the bottle my inner voice said “Yuk”, oops? I hope age will help this develop into something more yummy? My bottom 3 dN’s #135, #239, #426.
DAY 2, I left 1+ inch, in hopes of finding some improvement. Nope. It was just the same as on Day 1, kinda yucky. Not up my alley. Into my cooking (not drinking) wine bottle. So, perhaps it can improve with age. Hopefully? Please improve….

Saturday evening dinner- lovely Pinot shiners from de Negoce:
- 2018 de Négoce Pinot Noir OG N.197 - USA, California, Sonoma County, Green Valley of Russian River Valley (3/8/2025)
Decanted wine for dinner with Holy Grail Wagyu burgers. Pours garnet in the glass. Spicy cherry mixes with underbrush/forest floor on nose. Again, what I love about these RRV Pinots. On the palate, nice infusion of red fruits, crunchy acidity, balanced tannins blending into a medium plus long finish. 2nd evening this wine was slightly better. Can hold or drink now. (92 points)

OG dN Lot 212 2019 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
3 of 4, PnP.
This nice Cab was a welcome relief after a very mediocre experience w/#426 the previous night.
Seems ready now, but day 2 was also very good! You can drink or age this yummy CS .
It’s a darn fine wine!
