Wow that is surprising. Sorry to hear. I’ve drank 7 of my original 12 already and they were all consistent and good. Hopefully just a one off. Did you open something else that was enjoyable?

I’m hoping it was just a one off but was super disappointed at the end of the day. Probably should’ve saved some for the next day but it was simply undrinkable so we didn’t bother to want to see if it improved the next day.

We’ve only had one, shortly after arrival and it was quite tasty, though will be better with age. Hopefully yours is just a one off.

Cam X Lot 35 2024 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
1/24, 10 months bottled, Pulled the cork early, great initial aromas. Left it in the bottle.
A Cool climate PN color, mixed red berries on the nose, near perfectly balanced tannins (stem inclusion?).
All in all a nice rendition of cool climate PN. It’s yummy 
Crazy good value!!!
Sure to improve over the next few years, perhaps by a lot?

I definitely passed judgement on 35 too quickly. Looking forward to feeling stupid when I drink my last few someday.

I’m not sure I’ve ever really liked a PS less than 6 years after vintage. I would make fit a familiar pattern if it would be really good for a few months post bottle shock and then go into a dumb phase. I’ve just buried mine in the crawl space to be unearthed in three years. My problem is that I can’t really get in or out of the space and my son said he’s not going back in there any time soon. With 95 degree temps outside yesterday it was a very pleasant 70 in there so I’m hopeful it will work for medium long term storage.

20/24, PnP. With nearly 5 years bottled is ready to be consumed. I’m gonna drink ‘em up.

Had my first X 19 last night. No formal notes, but I do see what all the fuss is about. With that said I won’t be drinking many more any time soon. I had it alongside dN 200 and dN 59. I might argue that 200 is a better wine at the moment. It’s certainly just as good. I’m not sure what is going on with dN 59.

Lot 12 Napa Valley CS
Bottle 3/12, last opened up 4+ months ago. This is on an upward trajectory. Dark red fruit, cherry, red rock, higher acidity. Cheers!

2023 Cam X Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 12
One year bottled (yes, too young), into the decanter an hour beforehand. First bottle of 42, time to try just one.
Somewhat reduced in the decanter, the color is fine. The aroma is red fruited and sublimely seductive. Great acidity, no volatility. This is pleasant for me now, with expectations of a bright future. Probably much improvement every year for years to come?

Chris, this sounds like my first bottle of Lot 34, which I posted about and everyone told me I needed to respect the bottle shock. Other bottles I’ve tried have been tasty. I think more likely than bottle shock is there is some bottle variance. Or variance in some bottles being shocked worse than others? In some ways I’m glad I’m not the only one who had a bad bottle of 34, it makes me trust my palate more.
Anyways, tonight I tried my first glass of lot 27. Tight and red fruited on day 1 (yesterday), today it’s complex, earthy, brambly and smooth with a nose of tomato leaf and chocolate. Classy stuff with lifted and floral nose, sufficient but not overpowering fruit and clearly present but not unpleasant tannins. Great stuff! Thanks to everyone here for convincing me to get some after the initial offering, this is one I am glad not to have missed.

I personally preferred the balanced seductive beauty of X12 on day 2(improved), to the powerhouse dN81 on day 1.
X12 is Hands down, a winner wine
, that needs another 1-2 years to really start to shine. 
dN 501 PN is my white wine for fish & chips, it works there for me…

Opened a bottle of lot 50 tonight and it must be in a different stage in the bottle right now because it tastes different than any of the previous bottles I’ve opened. Tonight’s bottle most closely resembled a bottle of fortunate son the dreamer which I’ve never previously thought it tasted anything alike. For now I think I’ll let these sit till fall before I try another one, though I do enjoy this bottle right now so I may open more. These wines seem to definitely go through so bottle swing but so far lot 50 I’ve liked in every stage.

makes sense…I haven’t bottled too many multi-vintage cuvees so not a lot of experience watching these evolve but it would make sense that, as multiple vintages coalesce in the bottle, there will be a lot more evolution than normal.

Please include Sylvester in all of your photos with the exception of the mountain shots. I was born in the early 50’s so I love the name, I was Sylvester the Cat for halloween many moons ago! Your Sylvester is a beautiful cat, with much personality I bet.
