We really like this and my daughters love it. Another case is on the way. Thanks Cam!
Yup, IYKYK. ![]()
Funny because I typically donāt dig on Rutherford AVA but that was a perfectly balanced wine. It would have been a good $100 bottle.
Actually I donāt know, yet. But, that is double great to hear!!
Actually I double dipped on X19.. ![]()
Wow, Beautiful view! Enjoy the day & the refreshing wine. Cheers ![]()

Inspired by the amazing Lot 19 I opened recently and the most recent CamX release, I decided to pop a Lot 14. Not quite as refined or ready to roll like lot 19 was. In fact, itās bizarrely similar winemaking as Lot 16 Syrah which was super tightly wound. Thereās a ton of cedar oak on the nose and palate. Black cherry, tannin, good balance. Iād hold off on this one for another couple years. Itās still delicious if you like your wine young and wound up.
Are you planning on saving some for day 2?
Haha. Yeah. Itās actually opening up way better than Lot 16 did. Itās quite great.
Lot 60. Well this one is a dichotomy for me. Itās as if La Pelle and Merry Edwards had a one night stand and this is the bastard child that was quickly produced from the unholy night of raucous debauchery but didnāt have time to be oaked so it was pushed out and picked up by the local charity then bottled and given a second chance at life.
Iām not mad at it at all and itās a fantastic bbq wine to pass the time while feeding the fire waiting for this brisket to cook.
Lot 14 > 2019 001. But they are really different wines. Typically I prefer dark fruited over red fruits. 14 is more sexy smooth red cherry fruits and 001 is black and tannic. I take back what I said about 14 being too wound up. It is but really just needs a full day decant. Comparatively speaking, 001 seems like will need a week to open up and itās 4 years older to start with. I happen to really enjoy these wines, albeit I think they are overpriced. 001 is a way more dense structure.
My wine group agrees that 19 001 has crazy structure and ripe fruit. It needs another decade sleeping. The 21 and 22 are way more approachable.
Oh thatās cool to know. I ended up with a single bottle since they were going well below release price at auction and really enjoyed it so bought someone elseās allocation (guess they read about the structure issue and wanted to pass it on). Iād be curious to have tried the 21s and 22s, but it got me to sign up and buy the 23s including the merlot which Iām pretty stoked about.
Lot 33 ā 2023 Dry Creek Valley Old Vine Zinfandel
First of one case, 7 months bottled, PnP. ![]()
This is nicely approachable already, with bright red old vine fruits, and sweet American Oak caramel.
This is a good match for pizza, spaghetti, chili verde burritos, etcā¦
with a Chili Verde Burrito
Also, with a very nice 2023 Sagrantino from Clesi (a local winery in the Templeton Gap) ![]()

2023 Cam X Pinot Noir Lot 18
11 months bottled, 3/24, PnP. ![]()
Red fruited floral aromas are abundant, crisp acidity with a clean long finish.
This will be fun to revisit over the next couple of years. I expect increased yummy complexity!
with Oven fried chicken
Anticipation!
Just pulled the cork for tonight on my first Lot 35 2024 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Review tomorrow?
Oh, my goodness! Just the aroma from the bottleās neck is easily worth the $14 current bottle shop price. Smells double promisingā¦![]()
I canāt get over the yeasty stemmy nose that overtakes the fruit once you notice it.
Lot 18 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir - 88 points
My first tastes were concerning for a repeat of my underwhelming first bottle in Nov 2025. Started off very linear with bright cherry. Enjoyably, it took on weight and began showing more aromatics on the nose and some complexity with a little dark fruit and black cherry and hints of spice and orange peel. Iām now looking forward to remaining bottles, which Iāll hold for a while.
Opened lot 34 tonight and had to dump it down the sink. Horribly shocky and an absolute mess. Let it breathe and still couldnāt drink it at all. No clue what is going on since the first time I tried this wine I loved it and so far is the only wine I repurchased.
Any reason not to save for another day or two to see how it goes ?
