2019 RĂŠmy Ferbras CĂ´tes du RhĂ´ne - France, RhĂ´ne, Southern RhĂ´ne, CĂ´tes du RhĂ´ne (8/23/2022)
Day 1: Again this is a solid everyday drinker that shines. Bramble, raspberry, mild funk, spice and earth. Medium finish. Excellent value. 90 points

2013 Chave St. Joseph.

Opened yesterday, finishing today.

2019 Chateau Moncontour Vouvray Demi-Sec
Paired well with chili pepper rubbed tuna.

2013 and 2016 Brovia Barolo normale were so good young that I didn’t miss passing on the Villero, Rocche, and Ca Mia.

I’m a little surprised 2016 hasn’t shut down. But great wine.

Can confirm. Caved last night. Your comments are spot on. As for the Vougeot- needs decades.

93’ Spottswoode, took about 75 minutes to come together in the glass. Paired with a smoked tri-tip. Drank good with the steak but otherwise this fruit is fading, at least for this bottle. Drink up if you have any.

2017 Hamilton Russell Chardonnay. After an off-putting first taste, this wine quickly showed well. Lemon, mineral, herbs/spices (nutmeg?), with subtle vanilla/butterscotch oak in the background. All delivered in Fred Astaire style.

PS. When you use the Grassl glasses at dinner, and you hear an exclamation of “oh shit!” from the kitchen during cleanup, your heart actually skips a beat.
