Migosh is this some sort of fantastic!! Juicy citrus explodes from the glass —- I got a big whack of it when the ‘tender put the pint down in front of me, and it stayed with throughout. Amazing luck with this random order.

I haven’t seen these for years in the wild, but came across a couple that I’d forgotten about from 2018 while rummaging in the root cellar
Just ok imo, still too Big in everything from the bba and has lost 80% of carb.
Has way less sweetness and weight than BCBS but still more than I now prefer. Finish actually feels like it has structure here though.
I do have some even older regular Expedition that I’m more hopeful for. Nice enough for 6 ounces I guess as a brunch aperitif.
(7.99 sticker on bottle seems steep)

I never seen the BBA version. I think only Oberon and Two Hearted make it to Oregon.

Both BBA stouts are good but 4oz is plenty

DDH treatment for their flagship beer, the Mayberry IPA. The regular version is better. Don’t get me wrong, this DDH version is “good,” but that’s about it. The regular version is excellent, and is one of the mainstays in our beer fridge.
If I had to choose 3 beers that I could only have for the rest of my life this would be one of them, along with probably RR Damnation and one of my favorite pilsners.
Parabola never disappoints.

Interesting how tastes differ. I tried one of these a few years ago and found it too oaky. Do you drink a lot of more heavily oaked wines?
I love a boozy rich stout but not too often (no pastry/sweet stouts with lots of adjuncts). I used to like rich, oaked cabs many years ago and and maybe that’s still carrying over in my stout preferences. I think it works with that beer style. I’d drink probably 20 pilsners per year for every one of these Parabolas if that puts it into perspective (sort of a 1-2 beer and done beer drinker). I do agree it’s heavy on the oak (and vanilla and especially coconut),
I do like Parabola, and have had three from this year’s release, but… something about it always leaves a slight metallic taste in my mouth.
If you get a chance to hit their place in Paso Robles, look for the Parabajava (coffee version) release. I picked one up and shared it with @Glenn_L_e_v_i_n_e and it’s been one of the more memorable coffee stouts I’ve had, and I’ve had quite a few

Agreed, it was one of my favorites and one of the few I’d jump on for sure. I lived about 10 minutes from Barrelworks in Buellton and it was a go spot for a while (went to the Parabajava release there). They really ramped up the variations, I think just before and after 2020. I’d still buy the Amburana as well. The “Scotch Parabola” was a legit drain pour for me (and another friend who couldn’t stand more than one sip) 
I can’t find a full list of Parabola variants - wish they’d list them on the website.

As luck would have it, our tour put us up one night in the Haymarket. So we hit Ryrie’s. Bartender recommended the Timothy Taylor. Said only a few bars in town have it. Hitting the spot.

They are a member of the ‘Champions Club’ for Timmothy Taylor, so yeah they kind of like them. Was happy to see their Boltmaker on as well
