My son-in-law went two days in a row to both the brewery in Windsor and the brew pub in Santa Rosa so he can get his 12 pack of bottles. I got one and didn’t have to wait in line! He dropped it off last night.

That was on tap at a pub down the street last month. 1/6 barrel Keg was on for 3 days, $10 for 8oz. I had it a couple years ago there. It was fine. No need to do it again.

I was gifted a ton of bomber sours like this. Hard to complete one solo.

Your son-in-law is a good young man. And, since I have met him a few times, I know.

C’mon, doable with proper fare. I especially enjoyed the dark fruited bottles.

Interesting. I never think about sours and food. No fare seems to be a fit. What are your suggestions?

Cured, spicy meats and an odiferous cheese plate.

Sorry, that beer is so passé now. I remember seeing cases of it in a market in Roseville. Not a bad beer of course just not exciting anymore.

Perfect abv. Rich and cozy.

Mussels.

Mussels steamed in mirepoix and gueuze is fantastic.

Fresh Pliny always great!!

I disagree. There are a gazillion world glass IPAs, sours, belgians, etc these days and Vinnie is the top of the heap when it comes to brewer geniuses.
So many hazys, pastry stouts and other styles where it’s easy to hide a fuckup. It takes a lot of talent to brew so many beer styles “dry” without a single flaw.

And when you’re from Chicago, fun find

Hmmm. RR beers are fine but just don’t move me. The beer market is supersaturated with good brew as mentioned. Consistency is the key which they may have. I have heard many say Blind Pig is better than Pliny. I have also heard Pliny isn’t the same since their expansion. And I doubt Vinnie is actively brewing— just like Chuck Wagner is not the winemaker for Caymus. Maybe not the best comparison but kinda close.

I had only had Pliny once before. Nephew brought me a bottle. Forgot what kind of beer it was. Forgot it was so hoppy.

Everything Russian River is Hoppy.

Cerveza Villamil Luna! Lager from Mexico that is craft all the way.

Very little craft lager made here for obvious financial reasons so I got to support this beer. Even my wife liked it!

On draught at good local taphaus. Each batch different, last was not as hazy and had more lemon attack.
