It’s like a lighter version of the Anchor Christmas beer
I may need to take a longer walk
Forest & Main is local to me and reliably great. Also, usually low ABV
How did this compare to regular Elder?
How was the Bottle Logic with all that age on it? Did it hold-up well, or not so much?
If you’re into gueuze / lambics, it’s probably the best beer bar in the world.
I do. Today is our last day here. Will see if I can make it over.
They also had a surprisingly deep collection BBA stouts from FiftyFifty (Eclipse) the last time I was there.
And an absurd selection of other Belgians. It’s an amazing beer bar even setting aside gueuze and lambic, but of course that’s what makes them famous.
It was very good! Good jammy fruit, not overdone/overly sweet. Lighter carbonation, but to be expected from a stout style anyway
Nice! Glad to hear a local brewery is succeeding in this fashion. 2 - 3 years tends to be my sweet spot with ageing big Stouts.
Lisa and Kevin (daughter and husband) are in Germany/Czechia right now, and I’m getting a steady stream of Pilsner Urquell, Augusteiner, Andechs, etc pictures. I’m jealous!
Thanks for the rec, but I just couldn’t make it happen.
Plan an afternoon around it if you ever return. Hope you had a great time otherwise!
Marginally drier with a heavier hops profile, but not as obnoxious as the Junior.
Cool. Sounds like I should give it a try shall I be so lucky as to come across it.
Some recents from Monkish. Both were incredible. Nobody does hazies as well as Monkish —— the more I taste, the more firm this belief becomes.
2023 Orval for Orval Day. Great as always even if I prefer Orval with more age.
Green Cheek?
