Not Bedrock, but the current offer at Casemates may be of interest to some. 2019/2020/2022 vertical of Filaments Merlot. Bedrock vineyard fruit and one of the proprietors worked at Bedrock Wine.
<$20/bottle shipped with summer hold. Iâm in simply out of curiosity.
2015 Ode to Lucian was in a great spot. 75% Mourvèdre from Contra Costa and some Grenache and Syrah from
elsewhere to round it out. No signs of decline on this one.

2024 Bedrock Sky Vineyard Zinfandel
Itâs been a hot minute since I opened some Bedrock. I was looking for something to pair with some steaks and opted for this over a cabernet. And wow this did not disappoint!
This was showing loads of beautiful dark zin fruit but so nuanced with black pepper, savory herbs and florals.
This almost had a zin meets central coast syrah type profile to it and it was absolutely delicious.
I agree with a CT note that stated this was less about the Zinfandel and more about the Mt. Veeder site. Not sure I would have ever pegged this as a zin if tasted blind.
Probably my favorite Bedrock to date (but there are so many great bottles!) and worthy of the stellar reviews. A legendary vineyard and a fantastic winemaking team have come together to create this beautiful wine!

Pours a garnet red, nose is getting just a touch tertiary but showing off that Shenandoah Valley terroir. Dark cherry, leather and clove add character. The palate is red fruited, strawberry, cherry, with nice weight and loads of fine grained chewy tannins. Expansive without being heavy, well balanced, entering adolescence but not maturity. Oh that chalk. I have a feeling itâs going to be around for decades.
Dava isnât a fan of the chalk or the tertiary. She smelled the wine and said âEither my glass is off or the wine is off.â So I went to the cellar and pulled something she couldnât possibly have an issue with.
I remember when Morgan poured this for me on pick-up day. I think I bought 4 more bottles on the spot.
Dark with purple and bluish tints. Oh so young and a touch reduced, loads purple and blue fruits and florals of violets and roses. Mouthcoating, rich and toothstaining, beaming with acidity and oak tannin. Itâs telling me to leave the others alone for a while. The fruit is prominent and sweet. A big package that needs time to unravel. Big future ahead for this.

I donât think iâve opened the 2023 Bedrock Old Hill but I did open a 2023 Bucklin Old Hill Ancient a while back and it was seriously good. Dense and layered for days!

You gave it the exact same score as I did. A spectacular Zin, probably the best Iâve had alongside the 2018 Precedent Kirschenmann. Now, we need to get to 100pts - we can get there - Zin has the stuffing to do it!

2023 Dolinsek Heritage
Delicious. Packed full of rich berry fruit with that orange peel and nectarine zing that zin often shows, plus licorice, earth, tar, and some florals. The palate is weighty and concentrated, medium plus body, medium acidity, all comes across quite fresh and balanced. Plenty of tannin and acid to age and I plan to leave at least one bottle for the long haul after drinking some 90s Frati Ranch (prior name of same vineyard) that was absolutely killer. But it is wonderful now.
Paired wonderfully with red sauce pasta.

2009 Bedrock/Bedrock.
I love this wine and itâs drinking so well right now. Itâs always been a bit âdarkerâ version of this offering with black plums and spices that dance perfectly with the citrus tinged acidity that hits on the mid-palate and lingers all the way through the long finish. Very well integrated at this point but i can see it providing a ton of pleasure for a long time. Fortunate to have quite a few in the cellar but am always looking for more

Great note, thanks. That is a dark Bedrock Heirloom/Heritage! Iâm sitting on 2 of these, bought on release, sounds like no hurry to open.

2007 Lorenzoâs.
It never ceases to amaze me how the wines from Morganâs first vintage can be so damn good. Bright florals and spice on the nose, and almost primary still on the palate with dark purple fruits, plums, and cinnamon. Maybe slightly âbiggerâ in style vs. More current Bedrock releases but still very well balanced with just enough acidity. Great wine that has plenty more gas in the tank. I feel very lucky to have a handful more in the cellar and plan to enjoy them over the next 10 to 15+ years.

Had the 2019 Dolinsek over the last two nights. I believe this is in an in between phase. Day 1 it was kinda flat and blah. Night 2 with some air, it blossomed into a combination of fruit and savory.

If you have a 2016 Pagani or Papera, Iâd check on it now. Have had both in the past week and they are so delicious.
