Kept it tight with my annual allotment of Lulu plus Areio, Sky, and Teldeschi.
Forgot to mention my 6 boxes of Lulu delivered today ![]()
Tough timing after BD, but I went for 2 each of Areio, Teldeschi, and Sky.
Sonoma SB, Sonoma Cab, Papera, and Lulu for a mixed case.
I ordered a case of rose and whites today. I have too much zin/heritage to buy more now.
I am drinking the 2018 Dolinsek Heritage tonight, which is blue fruited and delicious.
Wirz, Alta Vista, Sky, Areio, Buffalo. Already grabbed a box of Lulu a couple weeks ago.
Interesting that no one asked for the release letter in advance. Is that a symptom of wine buying fatigue? BD day hangover? Effectiveness of the podcasts?
Got the pod up a little earlier this time? I think we are all pretty use to Morgan preparing his notes for the pod and the release letter being a good mirror of the former by now… going off the rails a few times excluded. With that said, I am excited to read the rest of the release letter and always enjoy reading Morgan’s thoughts on where things are headed next.
To whomever has been preaching this for years - over the last two releases, I did not sleep on the whites and now have a case and a half of Bedrock white headed my way.
There was an instagram video showing the wines in the release which was then followed up a few days later by an email also stating which wines were being released, followed by the podcast. All of that pretty much satisfied my curiosity.
I may very well wind up regretting it but I stuck to my guns of skipping the 24 vintage after going OTT on 23. Tough with Areio and Papera in this release!
Psst, the ‘24’s are the vintage of the decade. LOL.
Seriously though the limited ‘24’s I’ve had seem to surpass the hyped ‘23’s.
Pouring wax in my ears and lashing myself to the mast.
If there is only one wine truism, it would be that there will always be more great wine.
- 2025 Bedrock Wine Co. Ode to Lulu Old Vine Rosé - USA, California (2/12/2026)
Tapped our first box, why not, it feels like spring here in NorCal. Exuberant nose of peach and melon. More peach and nectarine in the mouth with tart strawberries and lemon. Great weight, texture and length, this is more palate staining than the last couple of vintages. Best Lulu since… 2018? Making that up, although 18 was a great one.

2020 Pato - good, but a great life ahead of it. Could have used a couple more years in bottle. I’ll give my last one 2-3 years more.
Holding fast on my retirement ordering hiatus, but it doesn’t mean I can’t dip into the stash for a real beauty.
How were the transparent meatballs?
@TreyS I just landed one from WineBid; really looking forward to it. I have been really into the 2013-2016 bedrocks over the last few months
Up tonight is a ‘15 Monte Rosso Zinfandel
Brambley red fruit, a hint of vanilla and spice, with cherry and a bit of asphalt on the nose. Mouthfeel is very round, bright and entering a really great window of enjoyment and complexity — fruit forward with an underlying structure and acid profile which is very rare. Hats off.
