What Bedrock wine are you drinking tonight?

Those podcasts get you every time!

Sort of baffles me that more producers don’t do a release podcast. I listen to every Bedrock pod, every Yeah! pod. They always make me want to buy more of the wines.

I will not listen. I will not listen. I will not listen.

Nope. The retirement buying freeze has to start. I’m actually feeling OK with it.

Gotta admit I bet that’s liberating. Inheriting your dad’s cellar definitely helped you limit your buying and stop accruing new wine.

If I inherited my Dad’s cellar, it would have contained a half bottle of cheap brandy and four cans of Pabst. All given to him years earlier. He wasn’t much of a drinker.

Here’s a fun one! 2010 Ode to LuLu Rose. Yep…a 16 year old rose. And honestly…you’d never know it. Still a lovely pale salmon color, with freshly picked strawberries and a hint of watermelon on the nose.

In the mouth, if i didn’t know better, you literally could have convinced me it was a new release. Fresh and bright citrus, sweet strawberry, and a slight bitter/savory note on the finish that adds intrigue. Pretty damn impressive @Morgan_Twain-Peterson ! Actually have 3 more in the cellar (and a 2009 thats a tiny bit darker but still looks great) that I’ll hold for a bit to see what happens

Ha ha! Bringing it to Chicago this summer as admission to sail with you guys

The cellar has to be DEEP to hold rose for 16 years

2020 Puccini Vineyard Zinfandel

The potential was there but it was disjointed and never really came around. Perhaps it needs some more time in the cellar.

The podcast is a good listen. Changed my strategy for tomorrow.

My dad’s cellar was so different from my own that it had almost zero effect on my buying. It made more changes to my drinking, as I went from maybe 5 bottles of Cabernet a year to more like 30.

Had a bottle of 2017 Heritage Lorenzo’s Vyd. during the Superbowl. It had the misfortuane of coming after a really good 2015 Bucklin Bambino. I think it’s ready to go and was probably better, in my opinion, around the time of Tom Lee’s note to which I’m replying.

I’m curious…in what way?

Hearing Morgan describe the blends. Crossed at least one off the list and added at least two others.

Hard work limiting it to a case but I have so much Bedrock red in the cellar. Went for 3x of each white and 3 Sky.

Ya me too. Just ordered 2 Areio, 1 Papera, 3 Sonoma Cabs and then 6 Lulu’s. I don’t need any more zin but decided to try the Papera.
