The Bourbon Thread

Good move passing on the W12. I would have been tempted to snipe the WT Generations, for sure.

That’s what I was thinking as well.

That choice was up to my husband. He kept going back and forth between the full proof and 12 yr.
Would you have kept and opened the WT Generations or sold it?

I’d have opened it. I hear it’s very good and I really like Wild Turkey in general.

Totally opened it. I’ve been becoming more and more of a WT fan lately, after doing a double blind tasting with some of their nicer bottles.

Flipping bottles is too much of a pain  I sold a bit several years back to buy my smoker, but outside of that I drink everything, much to my wife’s chagrin.

I would have traded it for 4 Staggs :joy:
I opened my last Batch 1 awhile back and have been sipping through it for awhile, knowing that’s probably going to be the end for me. I know different batches are more/less respected than others but I only know batch 1.
Walked into a store in 2013 before the crazy hype and came away with some

Lost the Pappy lottery too…hope you fared better!

No luck over here either.

I know it’s not bourbon but wondering if anyone has any thoughts on Found North whiskey. I lost out on batch 008 but picked up a batch 004 and I think it’s awesome. I’d love to find a Peregrine

Our local Costco (Danville, CA) has the Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Series Bourbon for $43.99 after a $6 instant rebate. My willpower was non-existent and I grabbed a few more.

buy a truckload…one of the best on the shelf bourbons for the cost out there (and this is at 55-60)

OG toasted. I’d be grabbing it at that price for Manhattans.

LONG time fan of the regular 9 and the 9 single barrel. Love the 12, but in the midwest it’s in the $60’s. Wish there wasn’t a $30 premium for the three additional years, it’s almost double the 9 year.

Hi Al, The 9 is definitely the qpr star, but the 12 is a big step up IMHO.
Are you still in N Chicago?I’ll be back there sometime in the fall.Still have
a couple of those Bookers in the bunker.:tumbler_glass::tumbler_glass:

They’re all over Costcos right now.

Traded for 2019 GTS, had a pour last night.A touch of oak varnish on the nose, still there on the palette along with sweet oak and orange marmalade.Finish was long with lingering sweet oak.One of the best pours I’ve had in awhile.:+1::+1:

I like the 19 GTS. Some people bag on it because it’s not rocket fuel but I think it’s a very good pour. Excellent even.

Yeah, I don’t know about that. I had a pour of the Weller Full Proof when it was released a few years ago and I have two (2) bottles of a restaurant/retailer Weller Full Proof. I would choose a bottle of Weller 12…

And that’s why they make Burgundy and CA Pinot

Cheers!

My favorite from their lineup has always been ER17, followed by WLW.

Was digging around and thinking about selling off some stuff and found some VWFR 13 year with codes from 2013-2016.
