Season in South Florida

I think there was interest in Burgundy and Italian so we defaulted to smorgasbord. I also remember some mention of planning it out so that not everyone brought the same type. But that’s all I think that we’ve decided so far.

I will bring Burgundy. I can bring either red or white as needed.

That back room would be cool if they would be willing to host an event.
That reminds me that I need to go reload my wine card.

Ok, here are our options. The first is a 3 course reduced a la carte option for $65 per person. This option has family style appetizers, individual entrees (5 choices), and family style dessert. The second is a 4 course option for $85 per person. This option has individual plates starting with 3 choices for appetizers, a mixed green salad, 4 choices for entree, and a seasonal dessert. Or we can go a la carte.

I don’t feel strongly about it and would be happy to go with either set menu option I or III or à la carte.

Just to throw it out there though, I think the family style option would be fun to do with wine flights.

But I’ll defer to all of you with more experience.

As always, thanks @P_Bennett for taking the laboring oar.

I’m up for whatever the group decides. Any option is totally fine with me as all of their dishes are very good so since we aren’t paying for corkage, $85 isn’t too bad considering that in for the cost.

I’m good with the $85 option. I will likely bring a red burg or an Italian red but am flexible to whatever the group prefers. Really looking forward to it and thanks to the planners. :clinking_glasses:

I’d prefer the $85 or the a la carte option.

Another vote for prix fixe, but we would be cool with either option.

This is perfect. While others chime in on the menu, let’s also tighten up on the “buy-in” for the wine.

Is there any more guidance as to how we should be thinking about what to bring? I will probably have to procure a bottle from Wine Watch or something before the appointed time.

If you have some idea of what you’re bringing (e.g., Raul’s red Burgundy / Italian), please let us know and we can make sure that we have a good variety, to Philip’s point above.

Lastly, it sounds like we are gravitating towards a blind tasting. Please speak up if that’s not the case. Not sure how it would work with 13 bottles but it will be fun.

Getting excited for this.

I would also go with the $85 menu. I’ll be bringing a red Italian.

I’m flexible with regard to burg or Italian so Im good with picking one if anyone prefers something in particular

I’ll bring something white then, since we have nothing on that front as of yet. I can do one Italian and one Burgundy if that works.

Also, are we set on the $85 menu? Seems to be the general consensus.

I’ll bring white.

I’ll start a running tab (13 total attendees):

@P_Bennett (1) - White Italian
@J_Cangiano (1) - Red Italian
@ErnestL (1) - Sparkling
@Scott_Brunson (2) - White Burgundy
@R_Puga (2) - Red Burgundy / Italian
@Mariano_Chiaramonte (1) - Red Italian
@jp_trevino (1)
@mhgreen (2) - Red Italian (x2) + maybe bubbly
@david_lazer (2)

Unless anyone prefers otherwise, I think we’ll go with the $85 prix fixe set menu III.

Thanks, everyone!

I’ll let them know about the menu. Mark me down for white Italian. We can fill in at the end if we’re missing anything. Thanks!

I’ll bring an Italian red.

Did we decide on Italian and Burg or are we doing anything else?

I’m planning on bringing sparkling (champagne / Prosecco), something to start everyone off. I don’t think the Italian and Burgundy theme are set in stone.
