I’m in for Fort Lauderdale just let me know the date and location.

I’m in for Fort Lauderdale on the 12th or 13th (Preferably on the 13th). I could also do Delaray on the 6th, I’ve just texted my contact in La Cigale so as soon as I get a reply I’ll let you know about the conditions.
For those in Dade or willing to come down here, I can always host a meeting at home, my building has a nice grilling area in the backyard, I enjoy grilling and I have a good source of prime Argentinian steak :grinning:
I don’t need much time in advance to organize the meeting, the only condition is that it has to be on a Saturday

I can probably do the 12th or 13th for Ft Lauderdale and for Miami I can be your Sous Chef Mariano

Ditto
We’re in for Lauderdale. If Thu, I will be bringing Burgundy, even if that isn’t the theme.

We are in our 20th year without a missed Thursday.
If Super Bowl week doesn’t work for people for a Delray event, I (or Mariano) could look at early March.

I’m good for the 13th in FTL.

And btw I’m in + my backup singer.

Hi David,

I will not be in FL until later this year. Not sure when yet.

Okay, let us know.

We should be able to make 2/12 or 13 and may be able to bring another couple if needed or desired.

I’d guesstimate we’ll have 12 to 14 people. Will that work?

Sounds good - I’ll check with FLCC and Roberto at union and see if either date is good and any other logistical items.

Not to overly complicate things but perhaps a poll might be helpful to keep a running tab of attendees. It’s my first time trying to do one on this platform so apologies in advance if it doesn’t work the way that I imagine it to.

We should be able to click on one or more of the city-date pairs to indicate which we plan to attend. It probably does not allow us to add a plus one so we’ll just have to estimate based on the rest of the thread. However, the poll should allow us to get a more accurate headcount and attendee list.

  • Delray 2/6
  • FLL 2/12
  • FLL 2/13
  • Miami TBD
  • Other (cannot make the above work but interested in other options)

If this over complicates it, then I can just delete this post.

Reached out to Union and FLCC. Will let you all know when I hear back.

Union Kitchen is good for either date (12th or 13th). They can do a la carte or a set menu if we want and they will waive corkage fee. We can also either use the private side patio for a little more privacy or the regular patio which is less private but still good. Still waiting on FLCC but I can’t imagine we will beat Union since the FLCC hours are a little limited usually.

Roberto is Italian so I’m sure an Italian theme would make him happy :sunglasses: But, we can honestly do whatever we want theme wise

That is awesome.
I propose Wednesday the 12th at Union Kitchen.
Italian
Whichever meal option is easier for the restaurant.

For those of you who gather regularly, is there a “buy in.”
(Expectation of age, expense etc. of the wines?)

Any particular reason you prefer the 12th? Just curious. Per the poll, it seems like the 13th works better for more people (i.e., Mariano, Jesse, Raul).

Happy to do a Burgundy theme if that works for everyone else.

Don’t want to break a tradition going on 20 years.

I’ll let the regulars chime in on the “buy in”.

I’m good with the Burgundy theme but prefer the 13th. Let me know what the “buy in” parameters are. Looking forward to it

I’m good with the 12th but would likely prefer the 13th (I guess I think Thursday is a better drinking day!!). As for the theme, I am a purist…Italian food goes so well with great Italian wine! But Burgundy doesn’t suck either so I suggest a smorgasbord. The only rule is that the bottle should be something worthy of this sort of group of winos. That could mean the bottle is a rare/unique one, from a great producer, a great vintage, has some age, of significant value, etc.

Let’s make this happen!!

This is the current menu. Will likely be close to this when we go:
