Season in South Florida

Phil- let’s get a Union Kitchen meetup set. Definitely need to find a spot in Fort Lauderdale for a wine dinner.

Unexpected family visit Friday the 7th—otherwise we’re pretty wide open.

Sorry for the delay getting back on this thread. With folks spanning Miami to north of Palm Beach, it may require two events (the more the merrier!). But let’s start with some dates. Are we talking weekends (definitely tough in high season) or would a early/mid-week event work? Once we figure that out I’ll throw out some dates and we can see which one(s) work best.

We will be attending both events most likely. :wine_glass:

Weeknights are always tough for me since I work every night M-F. Weekends maybe depending on prior engagements. Right now, the best ones for me would be: 2/12, 2/13, 2/17, & 2/18 since I don’t have clients scheduled those nights as of today

Once we get a date set up, I can reach out to Roberto at Union Kitchen and see if he can set us up with a good space either out back or on the patio

I’m also a member at Fort Lauderdale CC - I can always talk to our main dining room person there and see if we can do it there if that is preferred for everyone.

We would be good with the 12th/13th. We’ve done wine events at our CC in South Carolina, and are fine with a club meal, or a restaurant.
Do we want to suggest a theme? I am always willing to source if needed (I’m pretty weak on Italian wines right now).

If everyone can come to Port St. Lucie, our Club has $1 corkage on Thursday nights . We would come to both if there are two events. The only dates as of now that don’t work are Super Bowl weekend and 2/20. We can do any day of the week but weekdays would probably be less crowded,

I would also try to attend both gatherings. 2/12 and 2/13 work for me as well for the “south” gathering, although weekdays are challenging for me if prior to 7 pm.

For the “north” event, judging from past responses, Thursday 2/6 may be a good option. I am generally available if that doesn’t work for others. For restaurant options, I really enjoy The Grove and Amar in Delray, which Scott mentioned. I’m unclear of Amar’s corkage policy and ability to seat a large group. Have not been to MIA nor La Cigale, but happy to try!

I also really enjoy Le Colonial in Delray. Have not been to Campi but have read positive reviews, although may be on the pricy side.

David, my family is in PSL and hopefully we can meet at some time.

We’re going to do happy hour at Amar in the next few days; I’ll make inquiries and do recon.
Maybe @Mariano_Chiaramonte can check Cigalle.
I think The Grove has a $50 corkage fee (with a bottle limit also).

Glenn: Any time (but especially Thursday!). We are here until May 1.

Cool, just let me know what day we decide and I’ll hit up both and see what they say. As far as themes, doesn’t really matter to me. Worst case, can always hit up wine watch for whatever bottle you may not have.

That would be my plan.
I need to pick up some stuff from them anyway.

Im part of Miami crew I don’t mind going to Broward or Palm Beach but preferably on a weekend. As for doing something down in Miami I can recommend a couple of corkage friendly places that have private rooms. Vinya in Coral Gables. Certo just outside of Coral Gables. And I’m sure there are several more. I love the idea of multiple events.

Cheers.

Can we lock in February 12th (Wednesday) or 13th (Thursday) as the possible dates? If so, let’s check on places in Fort Lauderdale and Delray.

Phil- I am still getting the lay of the land down here so can you check on Union Kitchen and FLCC.
Scott- thoughts on places in Delray?

For FLL, either 2/12 or 2/13 should work for me.

For Delray, are we still shooting for 2/6? It doesn’t sound like 2/7 works for Scott and the Super Bowl is on 2/9.

By the way, is anyone planning to attend Great Wines World Miami?

Sure, I can check. Need to get an idea of a head count if possible
