Season in South Florida

That Mike Green is a bad hombre and a long suffering Giant fan

We be here in Palm Beach Gardens

Would go to Jupiter or WPB.

Do not like to drive much after alcohol. My other half got a DUI a few years ago, and I do not want to go thru that you what.

Bump
We’re back in paradise. With the exception of a week in late Feb, we are here until early April.
For you year-rounders, we are in Delray about 7 months per year.

We are rounders. BTW

Let’s get a date and location on the calendar. Are we still thinking Fort Lauderdale area?

@mhgreen ?

We’re fine with whatever.

I’m also game starting next week, anytime is good for me.

We are away 1/14-22. Edward, we are in Port St. Lucie so WPB, PBG, Jupiter, Tequesta work for us.

Based in Boca and live here year-round. I’m also down to get together and excited to meet others in the area

Most of my family is in Port St. Lucie, 1 is in Delray.

No ETA on my next visit.

We’re in Delray for a week starting 2/3 but no car so uber etc.

Since we have people in Fort Lauderdale to the south, us in PSL in the north, and everyone else in between, can I suggest somewhere around Delray February 3-9?

Well, since we’ll be in Delray, that certainly could work for us. We’re at the Hyatt Grove arts district. What restaurants allow corkage in Delray?

If Broward/Dade folks don’t want to drive to Delray, I would be fine with an event here, and a separate one farther south. I can always get excited about two or three parties.
As for Delray restaurants, Grove is expensive and has expensive corkage. MIA is ok but I’m not sure it has space for a gathering, unless they are willing to block off some space on the patio (it is covered). We haven’t been to the new location at Amar, but I think they allow corkage and the food is pretty good.
Delray restaurants during season, especially on weekends, are usually mobbed. Most restaurants on The Avenue are probably off the table. Maybe HRH and I can pop into Amar one night next week for happy hour, and check out the space.

Good plan, and if we are going to do a “north and south” perhaps West Palm or Palm Beach Gardens will enlarge the possibilities for the north.

Hi, brand new to the forum as of a few hours ago. I’m in Boca but will travel for good wine. I see nothing wrong with a little pregaming on the Brightline if going north (WPB) or south (Miami). Delray and FLL are easy. Hopefully dates / schedules work out.

Sorry if this is a stupid question or if I missed the information posted elsewhere but how do the meetups generally work?

Hi Ernest—welcome to the monkey house.
The real answer is, “yes.”
Sometimes (usually) themed, sometimes blind, sometimes QPR, sometimes rock star wines, sometimes one night, sometimes a weekend, sometimes with a pregame…
I guess the easiest advice is to plan to bring a special bottle(s), and plan to tip well if at a restaurant.

I have a contact in La Cigale in Delray. I can drive up there but no way I’m driving back to Miami after the wine dinner, so if we do anything north of Fort Laudable I’ll book a hotel room

Haven’t been to Le Cigalle but have heard good things.
Re hotel, if we end up also doing something in Miami or Lauderdale, we’ll do a hotel as well.

Same.
