It’s probably just me being stupid, but it is so hard to follow what wine people are talking about in this thread.
It’s partly the new board tech that doesn’t show what post people are responding to without clicking and getting jumped to another part of the thread and all.
I keep looking at “now this wine has gone up to $70” and not knowing what wine we are talking about, then I click on what post is being responded to, but that one doesn’t say either, etc.
All that combined with this being one of those “consolidated” megathreads, where people are simultaneously talking about countless different wines and producers.
We get it, you’ve bitched incessantly. I really don’t understand the whining. Activity has increased since the switch, if you want to see what someone replied to you can click the link in the top right corner of the post. The ease of use and aesthetics of this format is so much better than it used to be.
This thread is really just a bunch of total geeks using all sorts of acronyms for various wines, are as AW notes, pretty lazy about selecting and quoting text. I’ve not really had any issues following this topic, but then again, it’s one of my wine sweet spots.
I have? That’s news to me. My post was not even about the software but about how often complaints pop up in random threads. I’m not sure why you decided to direct this at me.
Just to rewind even one post before @ChrisJames 's one, I wasn’t meaning to attack the board software in a general sense.
I was just saying that the nature of how it does replies, in a consolidated thread like this one, combined with people talking about a bunch of different wines and their pricing in an interwoven fashion, using initials, not quoting text, etc. was making it hard for me to follow what some people were talking about.
But, some others like @K_John_Joseph say they’re not having any difficulty at all, so it could just be and my Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer brain.
I apologize, Chris. I mistook you for another who bitched incessantly about the transition and seemingly continues to do so. I’m sorry for painting you with that brush. I was in error.
