I’ll get my hands on some more, no doubt, at BD15!.
For those who tried Maitre de Chai last year at BD14 - what did you think? I missed it.
Morgan Ranch is 100% spot on. Best beef wagyu I’ve ever had. All their cuts are insanely good. Looking forward to GF, Dico, Kelly Fox etc.
I was the newbie taster for them last year. Very good wines. All are outstanding but my favorites were the zin and cab. Punch way above their weight!
This.
Every year I set a very low budget. every year I spend 10x. Di Costanzo, Sabelli Frisch, EMH, Kelley Fox, Jean Edwards, Goodfellow, Patricia Green, JB Neufeld, and the east coast doctor’s cellar offerings. And lets not forget the Cabot no dosage sparkling offer last year that went viral . I dont have a hope in hell of sticking to a budget
Had the 2016 on New Years Day. It was showing very well
Trying desperately to wait on these, without much success.
As a bubble junky, I’m all over this. Can’t wait.
I’ll add Calluna and Sandar & Hem to the list. I was very pleased with what I bought last year!
Looking forward to Sabelli-Frisch offer
Hoping that Suzor has a The Tower offer. ![]()
Goodfellow sparkling wine and Morgan Ranch for me!
My storage situation is dire so I’m excited to focus more on food this year. I haven’t tried the former two but plan to order some, along with Veleta olive oil.
I definitely want to echo what you said about Astrea caviar; tried it for the first time a few weeks ago (Oscietra Hybrid and Schrenckii), then ordered more for NYE, and it is just preposterously good, particularly the Schrenckii. Anyone on the fence about this caviar should dive right in on BD.
As for wine, hoping to summon the slightest bit of restraint, but:
- Goodfellow sparkling wines
- Goodfellow library releases
- Kelley Fox
- Six Cloves if participating again
Walter Scott and Patricia Green will be hard to resist as will MdC and DiCo, and I was impressed with the La Belle Promenade bottlings I tried earlier this year from Flaneur.
I’d love to see a return of the elusive Nikki Palleson. The Stars & Dust roses are a revelation.
Also Entiat: wines from the frontiers of Washington State. Innovative and fun drinking.
+1 on Jean Edwards. Purchased the 2015 Stagecoach two years in a row. Wonder if they have more?
Elusive is not a word I would have associated with Nikki.

Don’t blame poor budgeting…put in a number, then 10x it and spend under it…there is no way you could 10x your 10x…right?!![]()
No list of participants has been published yet, right?
So true lol
