Surprised no one mentioned Cabot yet.
That is why I pass my empty carrier to my wife, so I can blame her if it’s left behind
Durand?
Would like to see Cadence again. I must have missed the Baer offering last year.
The Bougetz reds are amazing. Tried some from last year and cellaring the rest! I
I have to say there is not a single purchase I made last BD that disappointed me. Standouts would be Six Cloves and Goodfellow but honestly I was thrilled with all of them (Claire Hill, Franny Beck, EMH, T Berkley, SchönTal). If I leave out Patty Green, Stereophonic or others the reason is I already knew about them before BD — not because they were in any way deficient.
So my problem will be how to include ones I passed on last year that I definitely want to try now — Suzor, Cabot, Cadence, iota — without passing up re-ups on he wines that blew me away last year.
Also, I am considering non-wine purchases this year , especially Veleta and Morgan Farms. How I am going to fit this all in the house is an unanswered question …
Have you considered embezzling from your employer? ![]()
Have considered that but I would be embezzling from myself……
The perfect crime.
I’m excited for our second year.
Curious what entices people trying a new producer in an admittedly crowded Oregon market.
What can I do as a seller to make you think “I want to try that!”?
Sell it for your distributor price. Or drop it 20% and bundle shipping so it’s “free shipping” or more accurately shiping included.
Funny, I was just thinking I dont ever see references to Bougetz outside Berserker Day
This for sure.
Obviously a bit harder to figure your pricing since shipping is variable.
I’ve got about 10 on my list already. From last year, a I tried both of these that I haven’t heard mentioned yet:
Prima Materia (strong Sagrantino, needs some time which I’ll happily give it!)
Theopolis Vineyards - super drinkable wines now, very enjoyable, made by a lawyer (like me but living the winemaker’s dream … )

The '19 Cab was superb! And Pietro is a class act.
His blog on his website is so interesting, with stand-out excellent info, although it’s not updated often. Honest stuff. (Prima Materia)
Is Stereophonics on this year? Great wines.
Looking forward to the new Goodfellow sparkling program. Tasted an early bottle with Marcus last June and this is one you won’t want to miss.
Everything I’ve had from Prima Materia has been very well made and very interesting. He even makes a non-vintage Nebbiolo!
