Official Costco Thread

My local Costco has this for $24/btl. What can you tell me about this wine?

Thanks

Wines Til Sold Out has sold some chablis from this producer. Their basic chablis was barely drinkable. The single bottle of 1er that I bought was decent:

  • 2017 Lamblin & Fils Chablis 1er Cru Vaillon - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru (10/31/2022)
This wine was a restrained chardonnay that went great with fish, and wasn't particularly chablis-like. There was a bit of minerality. (89 points)

Not wine, per se, but starting September 21, Costco’s Artevino III by EuroCave (200 Bottle Free Standing Wine Cellar) will be on sale on-line for $2,600 ($800 off regular price).

Rolled by Meridian, ID and grabbed a 6-pack of 2022 Clos des Lunes Blanc @ $14.99, 2019 Carbonnieux Rouge at $34.99, and a couple 2019 Fleur Cardinale at $36.99. Some other interesting wines…K The Deal Syrah, Longshadows Sequel, and some others I forget but was in a hurry.

Saw the following on offer at Costco Tustin District

2020 Pontet Canet @ south Sarasota store right around $115/$120.

$30 increase on the '19 I saw there in March.

South San Francisco has 2019 Malescot for $39.99.

They also finally started to aggressively mark down these beerenauslese that have been sitting in the case for a year. The Von Hovel was already on close out sale for $99.97 before this. Now I just have to wait on the Robert Weil to come down.

That’s an insane price on the Von Hovel. Would clean them out!

The * in the upper right corner means it’s a close out. Don’t expect to see again.

These have been on various levels of close out sale for the last 6 months. I don’t expect the Von Hovel will last past this one but the Robert Weil definitely have a mark down or two left in them.

It seems half bottles of beerenauslese for $200-$300 aren’t very popular.

That single bottle is the only one upright/under those lights. They keep the rest of them back in the locked area of the store with all the electronics, etc. I’d buy every single one.

The 2019 Kirkland Barolo was a pleasant surprise. Fontanafredda is the producer and showed good Nebbiolo typicity.
