Well, two of them have to be within 100 miles of Bordeaux. Suggest you come stocked up on 20s, Jay.
Super sorry all, going to be a bit late today Will be there between 5:30-5:40.
Am still very much coming! Sorry all, traffic is horrendous
Great time. Thanks, @PeterB
This was awesome thank you everyone!
Look forward to the next event.

What was the wotn?
We did not vote. Most people seemed to rate the Quintarelli as WOTN. I preferred the 2010 Ornellaia, with the Quintarelli second. There were no duds. I was happy with almost everything, with one or two that were just “OK,” but nothing that sunk to the lowest level of acceptability - “I would be glad to get this at a wedding.”
I’m sure someone has some better pics but posting these in case not. Thanks for another great session everyone - super wines all around and a really interesting mix.
Another very successful evening. Great to see old faces, and wonderful to see a few new faces as well. All the wines were wonderful and interesting. Thanks for everyone’s generosity and enthusiasm.
I am working on scheduling another one… stay tuned!
any chance of a list of wines? I can’t make out some of them, or at least their vintages! looks like a great night.
I was a lurker on this entire thread, but really considered making the trip from Boston! I never chimed in because I couldn’t pull it off…
'07 Rare - Very tasty. People sleep on Rare. Finish fell out a little for me.
'20 Château Pape Clément Blanc - So happy someone brought whites. The Sauv blanc dominates this with green nose that carries on. touch of diaper that blew off. Good acidity? Feels early in its journey.
Blanc #2 - @jzhang can you remind what this was? Grigich?
Semillon dominates. Smoother than wine #1. More spiced (ginger for me, thought Aaron had a better note). Wood is there. Rounder wine. More ready for biz.
'05 Kirwan - No rush here. Open, but didn’t feel it’s age. Just starting to get secondary dev. Elegant > power. Cab is balanced. Little green on finish. Stays with ya.
'85 Beringer Private Reserve - So youthful! No old in color or nose. Well integrated oak. Chocolate wrapping rich fruit. I don’t usually like Napa cab, but this felt true to what it was, while also not grotesque. Plenty of time left on this one.
Will add more later.
Great night. Thank you @PeterB for setting it up and thank you to everyone for bringing some amazing wines!
@Kyle_S_chaffer Some of the other vintages I can remember are below
2010 Ornelaia Bolgheri Superiore
2012 Roberto Voerzio Pissotta Langhe Merlot
2000 Giuseppe Quintarelli Alzero Cabernet
1999 Castello dei Rampolla Vigna d’Alceo
1983 Grand Puy Lacoste
2005 Grand Puy Lacoste
2012 Montrose
2017 Dancing Hares
2005 Chateau Leoville Poyferre
1975 Cos d’Estournel
2005 Cos d’Estournel
thanks! I’m curious what the Miani was, and how it fared?
It was the 2018 Mioni Friuli Colli Orientali Merlot and it was amazing. Thank you @giol for bringing it! It was on my top 3 WOTN along with the Ornelaia and the Guiseppe Quintarelli Alzero Cabernet Franc.
Teh RDV and the 2005 Pamanouk Petit Verdot fared very well. The Pamanouk was my surprise of the night.
#2 Blanc was a 2019 Morlet La Proportion Doree and I was also curious about that note - I actually thought it was a note of botrytis but I checked and it is flavourful % of muscadelle. Loved the wine thanks Dahlia
thanks.
Yea, seems like “A blend of 69% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, and 1% Muscadelle” - KL
I thought it was great too. Classic Bordeaux Blanc flavors - from memory, peach, pear, toast and bit floral. Maybe a bit more oak than a normal Bordeaux Blanc but it certainly fooled me.
Loved Giovanni’s Italian Merlot. Vibrant wine with silky tannins and a really interesting hint of orange that set it apart. Good stuff.
