I did Cornus for a work lunch a few months ago and thought it was fantastic. Ordered à la carte. Plan to go back in a few weeks.

Noize is very good and extremely wine friendly. I would describe the food as elevated bistro.
I would echo others positive comments about Cornus.
Noize would work well for the latter part of trip because we will be in Fitzrovia then. I was booked at Cornus tonight but our flight last night was cancelled, so will try it another time.
Last night at Blandford Comptoir. Dude a few seats away at the bar ordered 13 Rayas. They have 4 vintages all around retail.

What is retail for 13 Rayas nowadays? I haven’t followed. How was the food?
Lunch on Saturday at Kiln. Still hummin’, just a great bar-counter operational. So rationalized, passing back the savings to the customer. The Bavette was wonderful, the cocktail while we waited was fantastic, and the entry-level Radikon paired quite nicely with the meal.
Love coming here for lunch.
FYI they now have a wall-unit AC. Bangs out some cold air, but definitely not an icebox in there.

How was the food at Brantford Comptoir?
13 Rayas is around 1200USD. Sadly they had no Pignan as I might’ve opted in.
2nd time there. Food about 8/10. Sardines, portion way too small

Suffering at Noble Rot Lambs drinking Gonon

I’m looking for some input/suggestions.
We have an overnight layover in early October and are staying near Heathrow (arrival at 11:30 am, with an early morning departure for Lyon the next day). I’ve booked an early dinner at Noble Rot Lamb’s Conduit, but I know from experience, we are likely to be fading pretty significantly by that point. One of the joys of using miles to fly up front internationally from Boise is wonky itineraries & we will be 24 hours into our travel day by the time we land at Heathrow. I’m considering switching our reservation to lunch, but am also wondering if there are any alternative restaurants that anybody might suggest that are closer to Heathrow than Noble Rot which might make a post-dinner journey back shorter and therefore more palatable. We would prefer public transit-accessible options.
La Trompette in Chiswick W4. Cannot go wrong. Highly recommended

La Trompette looks great, but according to Google Maps it’s only about 15 minutes closer to Heathrow than Noble Rot?
Google Maps is being highly optimistic
Just compared travel time from Heathrow ( I don’t know exactly where you are staying) and Google Maps gave me 57 minutes to Noble Rot and 24 to La Trompette.
Staying at the Heathrow Marriott & Google Maps estimates about a 20 minute difference in travel time (in favor of La Trompette) currently.
If it helps, as nice as Noble Rot can be, the food at La Trompette is better, IMHO
