I have been to Noble Rot, but not La Trompette, however I do see a lot of wine folks I follow on IG who live in London posting about dinners from La Trompette and they love the food. We did not go to Noble Rot this year, but I did walk by and snapped a picture of the current menu. We thought Roast Chicken was great last year, but the starters were just ok.
Menus of course vary by location
And day. The roast chicken appears to be the only repeat item from our visit last year.
Unfortunately, La Trompette is closed Monday & Tuesday. The day I’m looking at is a Tuesday. So, Noble Rot Lamb’s Conduit, it is.
Went to the Ivy Asia in Mayfair for a business lunch. Falls in the premium mediocre category of sceney places.
They have a reasonable lunch menu (2 courses for 29 I believe with 5 quid supplement desert and some small upsells in terms of sides).
Suffer as you must. Would much rather do Cocochine’s business lunch menu for much the same cost.
Brunch at Three Darlings, Pavilion Road (Sloan Square). Good to very good!
Service is the real handicap (slow, disinterested). The roasted chicken was fantastic as is the green side salad of gem lettuce.
Handful of oysters, a beef tartare (almost like a side portion) and a pasta. Cocktails look v good (as does the bar) but I wasn’t drinking.
Perfect on the patio during a warm summer Sunday.
The Ivy is now a chain of almost 50 restaurants and whilst I haven’t been to one apart from the original (and not there in over 20 years) I am quite sure they are crap.
Ivy restaurants are all mediocre

Swinging back through London later in September for work. Any thoughts/takes on Trivet or Cycene?
How is the food at 110 Taillevent? Or only go for the wine?
I can’t speak to Taillevant 110 in London (I have in Paris, only once), but… you might want to check out Noble Rot.
