That is awesome!
I’m much closer than they are.

Hving recently suffered a significant medical issue, it is unlikely that will be cleared to consume alcohol by February and may still be on the, “you really shouldn’t fly yet” limit, I am probably going to be unable to attend, but may be I can smoke and freeze and ship brisket just to hold up the East Coast end of the event.

Happy new year everyone. We’re a month out from the event so I want to accelerate the information and remaining help I need from all of you. If you don’t wish to read any further, then just know I am looking for silent auction donation commitments and volunteer hour signups. Should you want to track the finer details of the event, you can click the link below. NOTE–it will work on some browsers or devices, yet not on others.

For our stretch goals for the event, we needed 5 new wineries and 10 new attendees, which would create a $2,500 donation from me and my silent donor to Laura’s House. As of this morning we have far exceeded the winery goal, thanks to Chris Towt and Phil Carpenter advocating in locking us down new wineries–THANK YOU both!. We remain short a single person to make the other goal, so find me one person to attend Falltacular and the $2,500 will be donated. Now, to the rest of the message…

SILENT AUCTION ITEMS NEEDED–this part of the event raises roughly the same amount we collect from tickets. This means we need to stock the auction so we can raise those funds, and to do that I need items. How do you help? You identify the what and how many of the items you want to donate then you message or post me that info. We then add it to the event list, make a bid sheet(s) for your items, and then you give to me ahead of the event or bring with you day of. So, think about if you want to help and get me that info, please.

HOURLY VOLUNTEERS–you may know I cannot do this work alone. I create and execute an hourly volunteer schedule for one hour blocks during the event, which ranges from setup, to wine station maintenance, to bbq chef. You can see the schedule if you open the link below, or you can just tell me to slot you for an hour and what you would like to do for that hour based on what I offered here.

FRIDAY BYOB DINNER– @Brian_Tuite is coordinating this dinner. Contact him if you have interest in attending.

TICKETS–Still for sale, although we are getting close to the 100 paid #. If we exceed that #, I may elect to slow down sales or create a wait list so if you’re gonna buy tickets, do it now. Ticket details are in the first post.

Thank you all for everything you have done for Laura’s House and this event. We continue to help change people’s lives for the better.

Oh damn!

We need talk about how to sell this because it’s not just a “put a price on a bid sheet” kind of deal.

It won’t be on the same scale as the Morgan Ranch deck party. No open air tours of Forestville Agriculture, although you can pet the Donkey! No parade unless you schedule the first Saturday of June. Hell in that case I’ll even get you your own float!

Brian, thank you for your generosity of spirit and heart for the event. You have showed a real generous leadership since you signed on with the event almost 10 years ago. I will answer your reply on email.

A brief update is in order, based on a lot of things coming through over the past few days.

  • Attendance. We have shot past 100 paid. If you plan to attend, you need to get paid ASAP as I may be making a decision soon to start a waiting list. I want the house to feel comfortable and we’re approaching a guest count that is close to full. The net of all the donations is now over $15,000. This is huge. Thanks to all of you, along with Larry Rowe and Matt O’Malley for the big bumps up, too.
  • Stretch Bonus Goals. We have met the goals I set for both new guests (we’re at 12 now, likely more once one guest defines his attendance better) and wineries (10 new, with a few more expected. Thank you to @christowt, @Phil_Carpenter and @Steve_Anderson for their leadership here). The result of these goals is my anonymous donor and I will make a $2,500 total donation to Laura’s House. I want to thank my donor for their match, and to all of you for helping to feed the event.
  • Silent Auction. Gaining steam. Please help with a wine donation if you want a tax deduction that helps support the auction and Laura’s House via the proceeds of the sold items.
  • Volunteer Schedule. Filling in. Need more help. Just an hour of your time. If you are attending and want to help, tell me.

Here is the event file should you want to dive into the details: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/s0mn6dmvt0botosavss7t/2026-Falltacular-Public-Event-File.xlsx?rlkey=q6qe9vl05rh3rk6iexmu551d6&st=5yxmer45&dl=0

That’s it. Thank You!

Once again my Wife cannot attend but is a paid attendee. If someone wants to be my +1 their admission is paid.

I rode with Matt yesterday and I asked if he was registered. Nope? I’ll send you the link! LOL

I sent Frank a list of some wine and bourbon for the auction but I wanted to highlight a “unique” lot I’m donating.

2 tickets to the sold out Banana Ball game between the Savannah Bananas and the Loco Beach Coconuts to be played at Petco Park in San Diego on Sunday, March 22.

If you have never seen Banana Ball you don’t know what you are missing. You don’t need to be a baseball fan to enjoy this fast-paced game filled with skits, trick plays, music and real professional quality baseball. The game is played with a unique set of rules (for example if a fan catches a foul ball - the batter is out) that makes it highly entertaining. My wife and I attended the game at Petco last year and had an amazing time.

How popular is Banana Ball? Over 4 million people entered the lottery for the chance to purchase tickets to the 2026 Banana Ball tour. Watch a few videos online to get a better understanding of what you’ll experience.

Winner will be attending the game with myself and fellow berserker Mike Stoneking.

Sign me up for some cleanup, table monitoring, volunteering, taking bottles out back, popping new bottles duty. I’ll take two hours if needed.

Thank you. I will put you down for 3PM on the white wine stations. And should you want to help us later on the evening, around the time of last man standing, you’re welcome too, Cris. Thanks for your support and years of attendance, too.

Ticket purchased, working with @Phil_Carpenter on wines. Really looking forward to meeting many of you in person!

Just a brief update as we are 3 weeks from the event. Looks very strong, which we deeply appreciate. Some early #s:

  • Wines To Taste - Too soon to get a real # but we have 40+ wineries committed, so I expect us to land somewhere between 110-125 different wines being poured in the house.
  • Wineries - of the 40+, we’re about 35% new to the event this year. These new wineries (found on the spreadsheet in the link below) bring additional energy and diversity to the returning wineries, creating a strong event.
  • Silent Auction - nearly 100 items committed, across just under 50 lots. If we can land around 75 total lots with 135-150 items, that’d be great goal. Submit your items to me if you’re gonna commit, please.
  • Guests - strong here, too. 100 paid as of now, with a growing list of winemaker/industry people attending too. We’ll have a well-attended event, which so far has raised over $16,000 in ticket sales. Excellent!
  • Friday BYOB Dinner - @Brian_Tuite is handing this, and a good turnout is already committed. If you want to attend, contact Brian. Indian meal at Basanti and a slew of BYOB bottles.
