FALLTACULAR 2026--Saturday, February 21st @ Noon. My House in South Orange County

We’re partial to the Hampton Inn & Suites Mission Viejo. A little farther away, highly rated though, and room rates include breakfast and parking.

Would love to attend. @Brian_Tuite told me nothing but good things and it’s a great time. Work is a little chaotic so probably won’t have a clear schedule till Jan but happy to donate some wine and help you with 1/5 of the new wineries. When is the last day to buy a ticket?

Thank you for your interest, and for Brian being our advocate. I never ask winery partners to pay, nor do I want you to. The donations you all collectively make is what fuels the event to take place. So yes, please donate whatever you like in wine, we will take good care of it. I am happy to add you to the winery communications I send out prior to the event, which is email driven. Private message me your email of choice and I will forward on the most recent email (which is the only one so far, too). As to a final date you need to commit, Jidhin, as a winery partner you don’t need to worry about it. Just take your time and decide, then reach out to me. As soon as you PM me your email, I will get it over. Thank you again for the interest in Falltacular.

If you do let me know and we’ll hook up before.

An update to everyone. We are close to 50 paid now, which is excellent momentum. With the holiday, we won’t have another update until after XMAS–I’d like to see us hit 70 paid when I get the post-XMAS data from Laura’s House. So for now, a huge thank you to those who have paid, for sticking with us another year, and for a few new folks who are jumping in to help.

I’m now signed up and paid. Looking forward to it, as always, Frank. Thanks so much for continuing to host this great event.

I’m going to make it one of these years, damnit! But not this year, I’ll be recovering from ankle replacement surgery part II :frowning:

Thanks as always, Frank. Won’t be able to attend this year, but will be making a donation in honour and am working on coordinating an auction item.

Hugs to all

Happy new year everyone. We have an update on attendance, now passing through 60 paid mark, collecting over $8,000 so far for the tickets. Thank you for that support. The list of paid tickets is noted below. I’ll continue to use screen shots, which looks clunky but it works.

Also, it will be time soon to start asking for silent auction commitments. Please noodle on this thought and if you plan to donate, I’d like to start hearing from you so I can get the list going.

That’s it for now. From Jill and I, as well as Laura’s House, all the best to everyone as the new year begins.

Happy new year to everyone. The holidays have passed and we’re into a new year. December seemed to move very quickly. And for me that means that February 21st will be here soon, too. With that in mind, a brief update and a few requests. Thank you for letting me take a few mins of your time, please read on…

FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE–there is $2,500 on the line for Laura’s House. We need 10 new people to buy tickets and 5 new wineries to get this money donated by me and my silent donor. As of now, we have 4 new people and 1 new winery, who is Turnstile Cellars via Jidhin R.–thank you for signing on! Just 6 more new people are needed, and I sense we will get them. I know Chris Towt was working on a handful of new wineries, we will see if he can get them over the goal line for us. And to help Chris, if you want to refer a winery to us for the event, please reach out to me. We need just 5 total.

TICKET SALES–We have 66 people paid as of today, with more likely on the next update from Laura’s House. Those tickets have raised nearly $9,000–thank you! Please finish buying your tickets or remind those around you who want to attend to get on the Laura’s House site and make the donation.

SILENT AUCTION–If you’re going to donate items, we need them committed on paper for now. I have the list started, will start sharing it once I have a few more. Arnie Caplan is already down for a few mags and a raffle item, and Leah Smith from Myriad has sent a box with some goodies that I will flag to the next update. Thank you both. David Bueker has also sent a box of Yeah Wines, and we have a nice box of Turnstile Cellars, too.

That’s it for now. More to come!

Campbell Clan is registered and I’ll have 4 new attendees in the next few days.

Hey, great advocacy for us. If you could pull in these four that’s gonna get us really close to the goal of 10 new people and we can end up making the payment bonus to Laura’s House for hitting that target. I’ll watch out for the new names.

You counted Karen as “new” I hope.

Carrie Morgan-Ourada is new as well.

OMG. That counts double!

@Carrie_Morgan

Guys, I have Carrie already counted, and to Alan’s call-out, yes we can count Karen as new, too. Thanks for the replies.

We’re gonna hit both attendance and winery newbie goals. I’m waiting on the next update on attendance from Laura’s House and then I will screen post them here.

If you are planning to attend the event, please buy your tickets via the Laura’s House website. Info on how to do that is above.

Does there happen to be a “longest commute” ribbon? I could be in the running for that

Only if you rode in on a horse.

There are a few people from Canada and New England that show up every year.
