Good work! You make such a strong effort to do this with us, Thomas. A big thank you for that commitment.

Where I need help is 11AM and Noon, mainly as the concierge to get auction donors and winemakers brought in as they arrive. Phil Carpenter, Bring Loring and Larry Schaffer all come to mind–helping them get bottles to the right stations as they show up, especially Phil who will have a lot of stuff with him. And as people come with auction bottles, to make sure those get to the right bid sheets. Can you help me with this key role for 11-1230ish?

TM, I just sent you a PM

@Frank_Murray_III , I’ll donate a box of steaks (the Beauty and the Beast Duo) to the silent auction and send you the info.

I can also volunteer at the grill with @Brian_Tuite

Looking forward to the weekend!

Oh snap, Gabe’s gonna be there! Seek out Jen, as she’ll be there, but I’ll be in North Carolina!

That’s a little bit like jumping into the alligator cage at mealtime…BT likes to work the grill alone…with runners on either side taking the meats, cutting, and distributing (if they even make it inside the house!)

Just took a look at the silent auction and emailed AuctionMaster Rick the lots that will most interest him. Get ready, @brigcampbell

So noted - I’ll stand back and let the master work. I can be morale support staff instead!

The ā€˜runner’ gig goes both ways - gotta keep refilling his glass!

@Carrie_Morgan Thank you for the kindness of the auction item. I’d be happy to add it to the bid roster. If you’re sending me the description, to include how the winner gets access to the item after winning, and what the full retail value is, then I’ll wait on your communication. I told Laura’s House I would send them the bid roster by this Friday.

@Frank_Murray_III those steaks need a bottle of wine to pair with them. I’ll toss in a 2023 Myriad Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Element Zero. Retail value $200

You can man, or woman, the cutting board!

Just a shout out to everyone…I want to get the silent auction commitments wrapped up by this Friday. So, if you are wanting to donate items, please communicate the specs on those to me now. I will say that we have a very healthy auction already taking shape, and once I can accept a few more deliveries, I will communicate the full auction picture to everyone. We will be close to 80 lots and well over 150 items, with some cool, diverse stuff all over the garage.

Frank - Yes. Happy to help.

Thank you. I’ll slot you and Raven there. This is a great help.

On a rainy day here, a joyful update for all of you as we move towards wrapping up for this big weekend that is upon us.

We’re gonna have more than 125 different wines in the house being poured–I’m still receiving wines. The auction is phat, with over 80 lots now, approaching 200 items. We have collected nearly $17,000 for tickets and yet we are enjoying what I think is the sweet spot for the event, which is about 110 people. The weather looks favorable so that would eliminate the tenting of the backyard, which creates the space we need for this size of a crowd.

So many of you have generously stepped up so far to buy tickets, to donate items to the garage, to volunteer your time, to find new wineries and people to attend–this all helps us make our goal to raise money for Laura’s House. I will remind you all that this is the objective of the event, to support their critical work. As we near the weekend, please keep this objective top of mind, and bid in the auction and help me clear the garage and finish the support.

I’ll update y’all once more this week with final details.

Here is the Excel file for the event if you wish to see the details of the what, how many and from whom!

Update for new wines and auction items added. We are tracking to have an event that has over 140 different wines to taste, made by the small wineries and hard work of people who we support, who in turn support Laura’s House. If you are coming on this Saturday, you will have a wealth of great stuff to try. Link is below. Final details about the event I will post on Friday, as I have another 4 wineries sending me wine that will go into the event.

FRIDAY DINNER–hosted by @Brian_Tuite at Basanti Indian in San Juan Capistrano. The restaurant has been bought out and there may be space still should you want to attend. Contact Brian directly.

For all info pertaining to Falltacular Saturday…

Time: Noon

Place: My House. If you need the address, message me

Tickets: Still available and required to attend. No strangers. We are a fully licensed event (as usual), I have license in hand.

Stemware: If you want to bring your own, do it. We DO NOT have new stems for this year, but will be using past years stems.

Wine: We will have over 140 different wines being shared inside the house. Whatever you see open (or on the Wine Committed tab in the file link below), these are ALL donated by these wineries. We also THANK them for making Falltacular possible–these are our winery partners, support them!

Food: This is a BYOF event. Every person attending needs to bring either a side dish and/or something to be put on the grill. Without you bringing something, we all don’t eat so do your part as you always do, making this a food event as much as it is wine.

Silent Auction: Will be in the garage, 12-5 PM. We have two special raffle items donated by Arnie and Lisa Caplan and Steve Nordhoff. See the file link below to check the details. We also have nearly 90 other lots of mostly wine, plus several winery tour/tasting visits, plus other generous items donated by so many of you to help raise money. Auction will close at 5PM, bid sheets will be collected, winners can take their items and pay with CC to the Laura’s House staff who will be on hand.

Volunteer Schedule: In the link below. These folks give me a big hand throughout the day.

After Party: Once the auction closes (or often right before!), we can do after-party wines and stuff. Bring your own Champagne, Craft Beer, Bourbon, etc to be shared during the after party. It’s a key tradition of Falltacular.

I think that is it. To all of you who have helped, contributed, donated your money, wine, time and heart, a big THANK YOU. We do this together, for each other, and most importantly, for the clients of Laura’s House.

Hey everyone. So, in lieu of a long, and potentially boring post about yesterday, let’s do a video instead. If you click the link below, you’ll get a 3 minute Dropbox video of me thanking you! Have a great Sunday, and THANK YOU for whatever you did yesterday to make us successful again, for our 20th year.

Thank you video
