De Negoce offer (Part 2)

How long do you plan on holding before opening the first one?

Well Scott_F,
Maybe Late September 2026, my (GULP!) 70th birthday. God willing……
I was hoping to have #68 later this month for my 68th, had it last night and it’s just not spectacular enough for birthday Peking Duck. :duck:
Plan B, 17?, 25? 200?, 329?, 385?, decisions…….:wine_glass:

My case of #500 arrived in good shape, maybe 75 F, no issues.

I might open one next Sunday, my 60th BD.

One of them is 499. And two 500’s.

Yeah, I seriously hate the new agglomerated ā€œFuture of Wineā€ corks. :face_vomiting:

To close the loop, mine showed up today while I was gone, so couldn’t heck temp. Corks look good, no seepage, didn’t feel excessively warm when I got home 90 mins later. 90 degrees today. Think I dodged a bullet.

I apologize in the likely event that this has already been covered, but who has the time to catch up on 10k posts?

Anyways, hadn’t ordered anything from De NĆ©goce in quite a long time. Pulled the trigger on 499 as I do love some Howell Mountain. The order shipped quite quickly, especially with how things were before. However, it seems that whatever change over to whatever new system that they are now using combined my billing (home) and my shipping address (offsite). Have others had this issue?

Additionally, I see others mentioning worries about shipping temps but did I not see them alluding to now using cold chain up until last mile delivery?

Again, I apologize if I’ve missed a big discussion here, but I’ve been pretty checked out of the De NĆ©goce convo for a long time. Seems I’ve missed quite a bit.

FWIW, I’m very happy that DN does not use STYROFOAM for shipping, thank you

huh. My #500 case hasn’t shipped yet.

That you know of :).
My last few shipments to Texas, I only got the notification when it was getting on fed ex truck in Dallas for the ā€œfinal mileā€ part to San Antonio.

I haven’t received notice yet either

lol that’s so bizarre. who knows how their system works. maybe they do look at distance and heat and wait? no idea where you guys are.

My case arrived today. No pushed up corks, but glass bottle temp was 97.6F

I think that the lack of inputs & chatter on this board is a clear signal that this wine may be not quite the deal that the prior 2 offers were. Oddly, there is not 1 note about it, which is a strong indicator for me.
The other 2 offers were scooped up pretty quickly which tells me that this board is not a buyer of this one.

I know they like to exaggerate their prose, but do they often claim 75% off when it’s only 74% ($960 to $249)? Conflating apples and oranges a bit (this is 100% CS) but if it were 75% CS they could still call it a Cab, while at 74% it would be illegal. Perhaps the claimed $960 original is an approximation, but then why not bump it up, or be accurate and say 74%?

If I can’t believe the few facts, I’m not about to trust the flowery prose.

It does appear that they are leaning into the staged release of wine offers based on points level. I’m village level and just got to email 4 hours later. Maybe that’s a reason to move up a level
