De Negoce offer (Part 2)

dN corporate headquarters: “wow, that RN offer sold out too fast! What can we do?”

The warehouse: “Offer another low end Spanish wine, that will certainly slow things down”

Estate Reserve Pinot at $399… 2018 Ron Noble Petaluma Gap “Estate Reserve” Pinot Noir 12-bottle case – de Négoce (denegoce.com)

Big Cali Pinot. Getting into Larry-world, I generally prefer a more subdued, tense, less fruit forward Pinot Noir. Not the super austere AFWE Burgundy, some Oregon pinots, something in the middle of those two “extremes”. My favorite Oregon Pinots tend to be the more bold of those, my favorite Cali Pinots tend to be the lighter weight of those.

As far as differences between “Estate” and “Estate Reserve”, it’s always an “it depends”, and without actually tasting side by side, hard to say, and not worth $400 for me to find out.

I doubt I could taste the difference between this and the last Ron Noble. So, I am glad I got the first case.

I’m so bored with the choices aside from the PN that I may grab the futures available. I never purchased any. How long should we keep them cellared?

Actually really like this wine, but I am waiting for whites. I think its a steal at 25.00 a bottle.

So black coffee drinker too - or at least you can enjoy your coffee black?

Absolutely ridiculous value and a bit annoying as I tried to get them to sell me two cases of this at that price as a make good three weeks ago and they wouldn’t. We settled on $420 and I bought 1.5

The RN “Estate” you just purchased is certainly an enjoyable bottle of Pinot. Great deal and sorry I missed it this morning personally.

Boom! I’ve been sampling my mixed case of XV of my own making, that included 2 bottles of this CdP, closer to $55/bottle from bottle shop. I have not sampled the CdP yet, but the similar Gigondas was a really good southern Rhone. With some cash in the kiddy, I got this case @~$250. With free shipping it’s a steal. I know what bottle I’m opening tonight…

Was waiting on the Gigondas but couldn’t resist the CdP - managed to snag a case

Exactly. I got the email 10 min ago and I was certainly going to buy. Bummer. I’m a sucker for a good CdP

Next up! I did grab a case. I want to try it.

Refreshing the screen, and with help from @Terrance_Arrington I snagged one of the CdP quickly, never even looked at the e-mail. (I’ll gladly share a bottle with you @Terrance_Arrington ),

Overall today seems better than yesterday, quality wise, maybe some of the big hitting Napa Cabs ARE on the horizon for later this week. I think I’m done though… maybe.

Yes. Definitely better than yesterday.

I’d like to try this wine, but hard to get a whole case of it without knowing if I’ll like it.

Not a White wine drinker.

I am buying the zombie Cam hype on this Roncaia. I wanted to buy the best case of white during this sale. Maybe I got it. I had plenty of time to buy the Papesse, but the fact that I already have two cases, plus the fact that the one bottle of XV CdP that I opened (I think La Reserve) was terrifyingly new world (tasted like a young Tensley, which is good wine) made me hold off.

There’s actually a good Malbec on Casemates if anyone is interested
