De Negoce offer (Part 2)

Yes, they seem to have replenished, no longer sold out. Wonder whose LTS bottles they’re using to resupply.
I’ll take a hard pass on this offer. They’ve got to offer a little more info.

I was pretty disappointed with their BD mystery cases. Didnt have any heavy hitters, just the leftovers that werent popular.

No bite on the “seriously collectible wines?”

What did they call the last mystery case?

Update: I’m in for a case. I used my $66 in rewards “points,” so got a mystery case for $68.

I would imagine this is mostly <$20 wines from the bottle shop (ie. rose, aussie, italian) and the bordeaux/spanish wines will check the “collectible” and “original label” boxes

I had ~$13 in rewards/credits/points, so I purchased a mystery case. I figured I needed to use those given the recent changes. I bought a mystery case the last time they were offered and really liked 3 of the bottles (316, 61 and 48). I don’t have high hopes for this mystery case, but can give the bottles away for Christmas if they are not “collectable”.

How can you pass this up? A mystery case of mystery wine. Twice the mystery, and there will be something new to talk about on this thread in a few weeks.

Hard pass on mystery box, partly cause we don’t drink white around here and I have plenty already for guests.

I would gladly sell mystery cases of dN to anyone in the Denver area who wants some. I guess the price is hard to beat. I could sell a few at $129, but I can’t match free shipping (or even expensive shipping), so I guess dN wins.

Single digit lots is good for those who missed out on those over 2 years ago, plus unreleased (dangle that carrot out there!) lots. Free shipping. Pass 4 me. But others should consider…

Cheers, Tim

I switched to the Domain storage boxes for my overflow LTS. I think each Domain box is a little over 50% size of a DN shipper and stackable.

Certainly a better solution, but they’re more than $10/box and dN shippers are free. My concerns are that a box holding twice the weight will break, or I’ll put my back out moving them.

The dN shippers double packed without inserts are really not a functional storage option. While I have done this a couple of times for overflow boxes sitting on the floor, they really can’t be moved (combination of weight and loss of structural rigidity) and can’t really be stacked more than two high (same reasons). I’ve gone to weinboxes for all of my storage. The up-front cost is not cheap but they last forever and really improve the ease of packing/moving/unpacking/stacking/etc.

I have about 1000 bottle capacity in 3 racking systems, 1 ambient, 1 passive cellar, 1 wine frig. I currently have about 2000 bottles of wine, plus ~20 5-gallon carboys. Overflow from home production in bottle is stacked in standard wine case boxes, home bottling in original glass that fit the boxes precisely, so stacking 4-5 high is safe. This currently fills a closet in my office. Still have about 20 5-gallon carboys of Syrah and Sangio from 2020 vintage. That was a good vintage for us, and the wine is tasty; it spent about 2 years in barrel before I racked it off into carboys.

Another 200 or so bottles are currently stacked in mish mash of cases and shippers mostly on floor of passive cellar. Weinbox seem like a good solution for those, as I believe we cannot drink fast enough to get us back to a sustainable number in the near future. Any folks here know if vendors run sales on the Weinbox or if maybe a Berserker Day sale? I like the concept, but not excited about the list price.

Sorry for the thread drift, but seems like this group has good info and I’m trying to glean where I can. Thanks!

Back on topic, surprised at the lack of guesses on the recently offered 414. Plenty of details in the offering, so should be able to nail it down. To me, this was always the most exciting part of this board…seems all the enthusiasm is truly gone…

Domain just ran a 20% Black Friday sale on them. That’s the first time I’ve seen them on sale. I once was part of a group buy of 100 to get a volume discount but somehow the shipping per box was higher than when I’ve ordered in standard quantities so the savings were pretty minimal. Now I just order as I need them.

I am doing the same and have been very happy with them. A little pricey but nice - and stackable.

JOwen,
I’m going to agree with earlier response of Freeman for this Lot 414. Hard to nail down for sure other sources in this Sebastopol Hills AVA with a “winemaker/owner” on site.
What I do like about recent offerings lately have been “single source vineyard” offers. Price creep is here for now, but having a “known” ie “offered” single vineyard source adds some “value” to purchaser. I’m sure there are detractors/critics to what I just stated.

I’ll add I did get half a case of 414

Cheers, Tim

Here’s the Cyber Monday bottle shop order I put in, just got it. Excited about these low priced Sicily reds, usually it’s kind of expensive to get any good Frappato or Nerello Mascalese.

Lot 379 | 2021 Collio Friulano
Lot 355 | 2021 McLaren Vale Shiraz
2019 San Felo IGT Toscana Pinot Nero
Lot 207 | 2019 Willamette Valley (Yamhill/Eola) Chardonnay
Lot 335 | 2021 DOC Sicilia Frappato
Lot 336 | 2021 IGT Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese

I also enjoyed the Sicily reds, and purchased 339, which was a steal under $10.00.
