If you go with 68, make sure it gets a nice long decant.
you must be new here
68 for sure. everyone says 50 is the one that needs the most time (iāve had prob 12 of them and they were all fine but wtf do i know). 100 and 250 are in storage. donāt know 59 or 145.
Thanks all, Iāve had 50 and think it is absolutely wonderful. Yes, will get even better with age, but I donāt agree that it is not ready (seen that several times here). So 50 and 68 it is, but still state your case if you feel otherwise!
59 is from Mt. Veeder and probably needs more time and 145 is supposedly mostly a reserve Rutherford/St. Helena wine.
Iāve tucked my remaining dN 50 away and havnt touched my last 5-6 bottles in over 18 months. (It was my first purchase 11/2020) I was overall underwhelmed but I didnāt understand well enough to understand why and later finding this forum helped me understand why. So I donāt want to āwasteā any more bottles while ppl so strongly felt the explanation was that itās not ready. (All those 2019 Washington wines are so ready to drink that there is no rush) but This discussion does tempt me to break one out and see how itās evolved. It will likely be with a long decant
68 and 145 are ready to drink.
Iām back in the game for some Lot 304, Santa Rosa PN!
Im on the fence and 304 is in my cart, but so many wine cases stacked up already!
Fiddlestix vineyard sold in 2021 and is close to the coast.
Dragonette Cellars sources from Fiddlestix.
Dragonette Cellars Fiddlestix Vineyard Pinot Noir - price point, along with accolades line up with description.
I could be wrong but i think this has been surroundedā¦
Marc,
Good deductions but my guess is that this is most likely Fiddlehead itself, not Dragonette. I could be wrong blunt donāt think so in this caseā¦
Cheers
Fe Ciega vineyard (formerly owned by Longoria) also recently changed hands. Several wineries source from there with close price points.
Does Fiddlehead have a $70 SVD? I very quickly went through their listed wines and didnāt see one.
I simply cannot purchase any more wine but am very tempted. However, I wonāt congratulate my self-restraint until it officially sells out.
Do you know if the 100% french oak and price points line up?
Do it !
Vinous gave the 2020 a 96 rating. Retail $75
Still not sure as Dragonette did not sell but Fiddlehead has sold.
Did Dragonette recently change hands? I visited there a few months back and donāt recall there being any recent change-over? I see that particular vineyard sold in 2021ā¦but Cam specifically mentions the ābrandā changing handsā¦
As far as I know they did not - but Fiddlestix VYD did as did Rick Longoriaās brand.
Cheers
What the heck⦠i didnāt need itā¦but went in for a case as I couldnāt pass it up for $13.25 per bottle
