COMING TOMORROW (10/28) - Falltacular 'Excess' Inventory Auctions, fundraising for Laura's House!

Most of you, if not all, have heard of Falltacular, as it has earned near-cult status here on Wine Berserkers, thanks to the tireless efforts of @Frank_Murray_III and his mighty army of helpers.

(For those that do not, here is the latest in the long line of Falltacular events - FALLTACULAR 2022, Saturday October 22nd, Noon @ My House in the OC)

Frank raises money for a truly incredible organization at these events - Laura’s House - https://www.laurashouse.org (I encourage you to see the wonderful work they do, take a look if you aren’t familiar) and this year he had the idea that we auction off the excess wine - all generously donated by the wineries themselves - here on Wine Berserkers (via Commerce Corner) to raise even MORE money for Laura’s House!

I will be posting these auction lots tomorrow, with recognized names such as Sandler, Tercero, Loring, Sojourn, and dozens more. ALL successful bids for each lot will be 100% tax deductible, as payments are made directly to Laura’s House for the hammer price. Shipping will be handled separately by the successful bidder(s) on each lot won, and is not tax deductible, only the auction lots are.

I will post tomorrow morning, 10/28, and we will run this through Nov 1 at NOON Pacific, with hard close on all bids at that time.

Thank you Todd for steering this effort. Wine Berserkers has been helping us with Falltacular by spreading the word, going back to 2009 when the WB site was started. Every year since that time we have run information through here. Even yourself, Todd, you were honored this past Saturday with 10 years of attendance in the event, joining our Decade of Support fraternity, many who part of the WB community already. Congratulations and thank you for that support all these years.

Folks, please bid on the items. I have priced them fairly to help encourage bidding, and everything that is collected, ALL OF IT, will go to Laura’s House. Their services include their emergency shelter and hotline staff, plus their counseling services, as well as their legal advocacy staff that accompanies domestic violence victims into court to give them legal and emotional support as they confront their abusers and face judges that issue restraining orders. And, Laura’s House actively teaches and educates in our local schools, where the root of domestic violence is found.

Whatever you do, even if you just visit their website, I want to thank you. 15 years I have been advocating with the wine community’s support to help this charity, and we have done MUCH good. THANK YOU!

Just bumping this to make sure that folks mozy on over to the Commerce Corner and bid these up! It’s for a fantastic cause and these wines were all donated by winemakers like me to be poured at Falltacular. Because there were not as many folks in previous years, many of the second bottles went untouched - and that is your gain! Check them up and bid them up!

I want to thank all of the current bidders who are helping us over on Commerce Corner raise money for Laura’s House. The producers’ wines, and all of you who are bidding, it’s this kind of support that makes a difference for those who are trying to escape domestic violence.

Hey, thanks to everyone over there in CC that have entered bids. Laura’s House and I appreciate the support.

I also want to be clear that while none of the bottles have been opened and they ALL came direct from the wineries to me, on the day event we did shave the capsule foil on a # of these bottles, as we do that every year when we set up the event. So, some foils are cut at the bottle lip but that is the only alteration that was made. I just want to be up front about this in case it bugs anybody, To be transparent, I am going to post this on all the lots on Commerce Corner, too.

Big THANK YOU to the wineries (who all approved their excess wines being auctioned off today) AND to the bidders over on Commerce Corner who won these wines.

10 winners spent just over $2,500 to give these wines new homes, with all of this money raised donated directly to the Laura’s House website. That’s beautiful.

Thanks to @ToddFrench for providing the platform to make this all happen. It’s amazing what people can and will do when kindness and leadership are the priority (instead of all the nonsense that is all around us these days with people attacking each other). THANK YOU!
