Edit (2/3/25) - BD16 was one hell of a ride, thank you to everyone who checked out my offer and purchased wines! The offer is now closed (the links won’t work). HOWEVER, if you’re reading this sometime in the future, and you are intrigued by the offer, please send me a private message. I have a few six-packs remaining and would love to share them with interested berserkers. Til next year, THANK YOU! -Elise Nerlove, Owner
Hello again, Berserkers! Elkhorn Peak is back for BD16 with a thought-provoking question:
Do you long for a wine that takes you back to a simpler time? A time when dial-up internet was cutting-edge and pagers were the height of convenience? A time when Jurassic Park made us all wonder if life really would, in fact, find a way? A time that smelled like teen spirit?
Tell me: what wine would you pair with Dunkaroos and a VHS copy of Titanic?
For BD16, we’re taking you back to the '90s…specifically: 1992, 1995, 1997, and 1998. And just added: 1994!
TLDR: Today is your chance to own well-aged Pinot Noir for a penny!!
We’re Elkhorn Peak Cellars, we’ve been cultivating estate grown Napa Valley wines from our vineyard since 1992. We are the OG Micro-Winery in the area, and we fought (and won) a long battle with local government to establish the Micro-Winery designation in Napa.
Quick Intros: Ken, left, is the master grower at Elkhorn Peak. He’s an OG farmer (and my Dad!), and planted the entire vineyard by hand back in 1983. At 76 years young, he regularly schools young farmers on Tik Tok, and has gone viral with this video (20K views!!) where he MacGyvers the most powerful weeding tool known to man, using only a shovel and a plasma cutter. Elise, right, that’s me! I am the winemaker and GM at Elkhorn Peak, and my goal is to continue the small farming legacy for another generation.
Our Pinot Noir consistently earns 90+ point ratings from critics and rave reviews from wine lovers. We don’t distribute because of our size, so you won’t stumble upon our wine at your local wine shop or your favorite restaurant. With 800 case annual production, we sell 100% direct, mostly to our wine club.
We’ve dug deep into our cellar and pulled out rare gems from these storied vintages. Each BD16 six-pack includes one of these rare, estate-grown bottles—for just a penny—alongside a curated selection of our wines. Together, they showcase the heart of Elkhorn Peak.
(We also have a 3-pack Intro if you’d just like to dip your toe in the water.)
BerserkerDay is all about discovering unicorn bottles—that rare, elusive gem among a sea of wines. And let me tell you, an estate-grown Napa Valley Pinot Noir from the early '90s? That’s a fucking gem.

AND THE BONUS OFFER: Everyone who purchases with us today will be entered into a RAFFLE and one lucky person will receive a FREE BOX OF PINOT NOIR INFUSED TRUFFLES with their order. The winner will contacted via email on FEBRUARY 5TH.

- Nirvana’s Nevermind finally hits #1 on the charts, and Smells Like Teen Spirit becomes a Gen X anthem. “Weird Al” Yankovic’s Smells Like Nirvana hits #35 a few months later.
- In the vineyard, Mother Nature brought unseasonable, Seattle-like rains in June. The angst was short lived because warm, dry weather arrived with summer, and the rest of the growing season was textbook. Quality and quantity were good across all varieties and growing areas in CA.

OFFER #2: The Failed Online Bookstore - Only 1 left!
Berserkers most popular pick, just 1 left!
The year is 1995….
- Amazon.com launched as a small online bookstore—a concept many dismissed as absurd and destined to fail. Well, we all know how that turned out! In other news, hacker Kevin Mitnick was arrested and Pamela Anderson got married to Tommy Lee.
- Meanwhile, the Napa Vintners characterized the 1995 vintage as “late, light, and luscious,” a fitting tagline for a vintage shaped by weather extremes. Winter floods, spring rains, and a surprise June hailstorm set the stage. And we enjoyed a long, moderate Indian Summer. This extended hang time led to a later than unusual harvest, but allowed red varieties to develop rich flavors and deep, stunning color.
The Failed Bookstore Includes One Bottle Each of:
- 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (regular price: $95)
- 2020 Pommard Clone Pinot Noir (regular price: $65) – normally a wine club member exclusive wine!
- 2019 Pinot Noir (regular price: $54)
- 2018 Pinot Noir (regular price: $60)
- 2021 Chardonnay (regular price: $36)
- 1995 Pinot Noir - for a penny! (regular price: $120)

OFFER #4: The Clintonian - Only 5 left
The year is 1998….
- Bill Clinton faced a highly publicized scandal; you know the one. In other news, Peyton Manning is drafted #1 by the Indianapolis Colts, and Frank Sinatra passes away.
- In the Napa Valley, an abnormally wet El Niño spring and summer wreaked havoc on the 1998 vintage crop, leaving growers with a poor fruit set. But, Mother Nature loves a plot twist. The tiny, lightweight clusters defied expectations, yielding balanced fruit with elegance, personality, and complexity. With a low juice-to-skin ratio, the wines became powerfully concentrated, boasting rich, extracted flavors.
The Clintonian Contains One Bottle Each of:

The fine print: Please note that our elder bottles are showing the beautiful characteristics of an aged Pinot Noir. We selected these vintages specifically because they are aging exceptionally well and do a phenomenal job of showing how well made Pinot Noir can evolve. But as with all aged wines, its condition is delicate. These special bottles are offered with no refunds or exchanges—consider it a journey into the unknown, and a chance to savor a rare and special relic from the past.
Wine Reviews
We’ve had Berserkers review our wines in past Berserker Days, you can check out here. And in the spirit of sharing, here are some testimonials we’ve gathered to help you get acquainted with us:
“Due to their location on the rocky slopes and bright sun, this is one of the rare Napa wineries that specializes in Pinot Noir - a refreshing break from the Rutherford Dusty Cabs you will have down in the valley.” -Mike M. (Yelp)
“It’s a small operation but the wines are better than any I have ever had. The Pinot is one of the best wines I have ever had.” Jill V. (Yelp)
“Ken’s passion for what he does is unrivaled. What a great winery in the southern part of Napa (Jameson Canyon). Mainly Pinot Noir. He’s doing everything right.” Don H. (Yelp)
“We absolutely love your Pinot Noir! We love Pinot Noir and there just isn’t another one out there that compares to Elkhorn Peak. Nothing compares…truly!” -Michele & Eric Fort, West Chester, PA
“Props to the old school methods of Elkhorn, the quality seriously shows in their wines.” -Brian B. (Yelp)
“Waited for Ken to grow and bottle Cab for years. First shot out of the barrel (pun intended) he hit it out of the park! A great wine by a great father and daughter team.” -Frank (product review, elkhornpeak.com)
Thank you for checking out our BD16 offer. If you’ve made it this far, I’m impressed. And I do have some additional things to tell you…

Thanks for sticking with me through all this—your curiosity and interest in our micro-winery mean the world to us. At its heart, our winery is about connection: to the land, to the wine, and to the people who make it all worthwhile.
Our vineyard is located in Jameson Canyon, the south end of the Napa Valley. No, it’s not Carneros. We’re actually 10 miles east of Carneros, closer to the newly established Sugarloaf AVA. Our vineyard sits high on a hillside with south facing views of the San Pablo and San Francisco Bay. We farm organically. And our legacy of crafting exceptional Pinot Noir stretches back when we planted the vineyard in 1983 and our inaugural 1992 vintage.
Whether you’re enjoying the 1992 Pinot Noir or any of our more recent vintages, you’re tasting the story of our vineyard—a story of dedication, family, and a love for crafting wines that truly reflect the unique corner of Napa we call home. If our wines and story resonate with you, we’d love for you to become part of our journey by joining our wine club.
So here’s to you, and to the memories made over a shared bottle. Thank you for being part of our journey—it wouldn’t be the same without you.
I’ll be here all day to mingle, answer questions, and do some shopping of my own!
Cheers,
Elise
