Seems like Gallo had a lot of financial issues and probably in addition to shuttering some facilities, bulking off some wine that isn’t super crazy popular in their portfolio would help them cover a lot of losses. I have too much I think on order so far but this does seem like a no brainer. Again, holding out for that franc like my life depends on it.
feeling like a goose must feel at a foie gras facility with all these offers
Sir what do you do for a living?
“I’m in Management…, Balance Sheet Management”…
I guess we can all add this to our resumes?
I’m imagining if you buy the whole lot there’s going to be a few small lot barrels that are quality but not exactly stand alone complete wines. Seems like for efficiency it makes sense to find a good lot to blend these together/away.
My lot 12 from WineVIP was delivered just a few minutes ago. I didn’t request any summer hold since my workplace is very close to Napa.
He did your meme @MatthewT
$130 for $12…your joke is becoming reality.
We expect the first review within the hour…clock’s tickin’ Norm!
Don’t forget something huge too:
The USD aint worth what it was in 2020 and 2021! So the value is even greater.
Lot 17 and 24 ordered!
Dang it.
I just said that I needed to call it quits on 2023s…I’ve ordered most of the initial lots, and Cam drops a crazy deal. I’ll skip the next one…really!
I know, I’m practicing what I’m going to say to my wife tonight. Mumbling nonsense about balance sheet management….
Sorry, but I’ve got a lot of 2014’s to drink. I’m saving this monster for at least 2 years.
Norm…we get it. We really do. That said, it’s a $17 bottle of wine. Take one for the team. Pretty please. You’ll be the most popular guy on the board. Until then, you’re just that guy mumbling about 11 year old juice
I probably won’t be able to resist but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow since it was delivered at work and this is my day off. I’ll plan to start the decant at around 2 and drink at 6 with the steaks I’m marinating now.
Maybe someone else will get theirs today and beat me to it.
I hope a bunch of folks - like Norm - get their deliveries today/tomorrow and start posting reviews. We have a very unique opportunity here (that we rarely had w/ dN) to taste the wine (or, in this case, have someone else taste it) while the wine (and T1 pricing) is still available. Bring it on folks!
Need to crowdfund an account that pays out 2x bottle cost to first confirmed tasting note.
Good point. Cam X wines aren’t selling out in hours like some dN lots but that’s bound to change as more and more new customers discover these great deals.
Ergo, pop 'em if ya got 'em, Norm (and we know you do)!
I am not blessed (or cursed) with deep cellars like most folks on here, so I will be invariably trying the 3 lots (1, 17, 24) I purchased as soon as they are in my possession. Maybe a bit of infanticide but such is the life of the collector with no space to collect.
You guys have convinced me to jump on this bandwagon with a four case purchase. I had never bought dN wines previously and have been burned by Rimmerman at Garagiste more times that I can count on mystery wines. Let’s hope Cams track record speaks for his future successes.
