Cam X Wine Company

What makes you think this is a Cam blend? The writeup starts out with “This bottling blend…”

Look at the very bottom @JOwen.

Hmmmm…seems contradictory, so perhaps Cam will clarify? If Cam’s team did the blending (even if all components are from the source), not sure his opening salvo should have started with ‘bottling blend’. The other wines purported from this source were all bottling blends, I believe, (his comments about bottle names being in the lot codes, etc.), so leaning towards this being an actual bottling blend and the comments towards the bottom were in error? I’m ‘in’ for a case either way, but would still love some clarity on this!

Hoping for this as well. Chasing the “cooler” weather.

Lot 17 - 2023 Krupp Brothers Cabernet blend of components by CAM

I’m struggling to reconcile “bottling blend” with “bought the entire production” along with “our final blend, but all components were sourced from the same producer”. Seems like all of those can’t be true at once.

Could have bought the whole production of bottling blend, and then added to the blend as done with various other lots (e.g., Lot 3, Lot 15)

Why not? You can purchase one bulk lot in entirety and finish blending with small amounts of other wine/wines from the same producer’s other lots/varietals for the final blend. Quite common…

In for a case. Best salesman in world history.

I understand that’s a common practice, but the language used strongly implies that he purchased the bottling blend (which would be different than your explanation provided). Otherwise, literally every wine he puts together would be touted as a ‘bottling blend’. Historically, Cam hasn’t done that.

I like this answer. That would explain the opening commentary of ‘bottling blend’ (if he did, in fact, purchase their final bottling blend in it’s entirety) along with the ending commentary about his final blend. I was in for 2 cases before getting any clarity on the topic, but would still love further clarity if Cam is willing…

I’m in.

Anyone else find it interesting that the language references this lot as being from the same Source as Lot 10…instead of Cam saying this lot came from the same Source as both Lots 10 & 16? Up to this point, I had certainly presumed both of those lots were from the same producer…

Edit: He previously touted Lot 13 as being from the same source as Lot 10 (and obviously no mention of Lot 13 today either), so it appears he’s done this before and I’m now back to my original thinking that Lots 10, 13, 16 (and others) are all from the same source.

Put it this way, its the producer bottling blend base but improved with additional components we purchased from them. I should add, it was only a minor tweak of a few additional percent of PV and MB…sexed it up.

Again, I’ve tasted nothing, but the presumed value on these offers is bananas. Even in the heyday of dN the suggested value of the wines weren’t this good. Today’s offer is just silly, but don’t most of us remember Matty begging for a $200 for $25 offer (or was it 20?)? Yesterday we got a $300 for $25 and it hasn’t even sold out. I know macro forces are bad and many are in my boat of just having nowhere to put this, but lordy CamX is off to a great start.

Appreciate the clarification Cam!

It is bananas indeed. I’m giving it away to be honest. It’s really just balance sheet management…take advantage :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

In for a case, wouldn’t want the balance sheet to go unmanaged!

Assuming you’re right and based on the write up should we assume there won’t be a Veraison released for 2023? Clearly if they’re the 11 lot source they had a lot of wine to unload.
