I do question this Lot 22 Rutherford Malbec being described in the manner of: ‘Definitely the red wine equivalent of a porch pounder!’ Meaning light-to-medium bodied opposed to full bodied?? What varietals do you consider as a porch pounder?
Welp, this is the one I was waiting for after I said last week that I was gonna take a break. So in for two cases, split between friends. Why the hell not at $10.75 a bottle! YOLO
I was holding off on lot 22 because of Cam’s wording like that you mentioned and others that give me the impression that it is just a good daily drinker.
And that’s the reason alone that I purchased it. A daily drinker. I’m going in as the next pizza wine +++
No, its definitely fullbodied. What I love about this wine is how approachable it is…silky smooth and perfectly integrated but it is also complex with great verve and really good structure and weight. Like I said, this is a “trust me” wine…
In for a case. While we drink 90% cabs, I like to mix it up a bit.
And this is all it took for me to order a case…
Great Cam, now tell us who made it.
Well, nuts. In for a case. So much for slowing down after blowing through my FM gift card…
I love Malbec but taking a hard pause on this. 2022 valley floor in Napa is basically a no-go for me. Keeping an eye on 2023 offers.
Another possibility for lot 22. Website is not the most up to date, so 2019 most recent shown. No clue if they make this wine every year, but maybe they don’t and bulk out “the whole lot.”
Is there a label coding to CAM X’s yellow or gold, red, silver and purple winery’s name labelling? Most probably only aesthetics applied to these selections??
Also - I don’t recall talking about this so apologies if I missed it and it’s hard to search for this but did we discuss what the “X” means in Cam X?
The price lines up…but the Dollarhide vineyard isn’t in Rutherford, so can’t be Lot 22
I was wondering the same thing and thought bottle color might be based on varietal…but then noticed both silver and gold being used on cabernet sauvignon lots. Would love for Cam to weigh-in on the bottle design logic!

Ah, I see that now. I was thinking that was their Rutherford Estate Vyd., which does not look like it has any Malbec planted.
I assumed it was a reference to Cam having sold his name twice.
Love me an easy drinking merlot! I need to whittle down some of my FM balance anyways…
Got my tracking for Lot 12 just now.
