Cam X Wine Company

I am sure that being a Winemaker, what I say in this thread may be misinterpreted tremendously. And I guess I’m willing to risk that to state what I do.

As I said, I love interacting with people and I love this thread because of how active it is. But I also understand there are many people who are part of this thread who are new to this site. They may not know who I am at all. And that’s OK.

Hope that makes sense. I am certainly not tone deaf whatsoever, but if I’m missing something, please let me know.

Cheers

You’ve got 100s of posts in the dN thread and you missed boom boom?
I’ll dm you

Hey Larry - I will make one comment and then slink back to the shadows where I belong. I take no sides on this…but you are obviously intentionally trying to “stir stuff up” and cause drama in this thread. If it isn’t obvious by your language (which I think it is), it is obvious by your use of the “guy eating popcorn” emoji after making a comment. I am not surprised (nor can you possibly be surprised) that your comments have garnered this kind of attention.

I don’t know Larry, have no horse in the race, but he isn’t denigrating or bullying like that other Dave dude was. I think asking him to quiet down is more akin to censorship rather than trying to keep a bully off the thread. Carry on.

If anything, I read his posts to be somewhat in awe of how Cam is so good at selling these wines.

Agree with David, literally go look at any thread on this board where Larry has posted, 98% of it is questions. And like David, no horse in this race….

I was gonna wait for Lot 50 and then take a buying break for a bit as I have no space but all this Lot 5 talk had me picking up a case

Sometimes its as simple as this…

Shipment containing my 4x six packs arrived yesterday and I opened a Gewurtztraminer that evening.

I find Cam’s tasting notes to match mine, although my crap pallet doesn’t get the same depth of complexity. I personally enjoyed it slightly better on the first day, but tonight was still very much alive. Will find out what tomorrow holds for the remaining 1/3.

I’m glad I submitted a second order for a full case during the black Friday sale.

I saw some commentary above about boom boom/AAFWE - I’ve created a scoring system based on my preferences that assigns a 1-10 score to each lot that guides me towards wines I should enjoy. It would not be hard for anyone to do the same.

“Pretty tight NDA here, folks. No names. No vineyards. No backstory.”

In my mind, it also seems less likely Beringer would have a remarkably tight NDA.

Thank you!

Thank you!

You know, I did take part in that thread, but really didn’t pay much attention.

Thank you so much for the clarification. That makes sense. Cheers!

Larry, “what a to do”…British expression…
And by “charter” I meant what’s your genuine / authentic mission/ intention on this CH forum that you regularly lurk on /make snide comments on.
We live pretty close to one and other and as we happen to have a place in Avila Beach, I am now planning to pay your tasting room a visit rather soon my dear chap :wine_glass:

I wasn’t going to comment here, but just to be clear: I haven’t seen a single snide comment from Larry. I’m wondering if it’s just how it’s hard to read tone on the internet, or maybe it’s helpful to see Larry in the other threads - we’ve never met but I hope to one day. (Also if he’s supposed to be lurking, he’s not doing it right. :cowboy_hat_face:)

Love it - and this is where a lack of expressions from other cultures makes it ‘challenging’ to say the least.

As I continue to say, I’m just a very curious person. I also love conversation. I also do not like group thing and sometimes I find on this thread there tends to be a lot of group thing.

I love what Cam is doing and I’m very respectful of him and the successes he is having. Anyone who believes otherwise is just simply incorrect. I hope that clear things

And I would love to host you whenever you’d like to come down. My wife was actually born and raised in AG, not too far from you.

Cheers

To be fair, I’ll just share my perspective as someone who has been around for this cams wine forum more than a minute. I’m not sure that I had completely picked up on the meaning of “boom boom”. The first use of the term that I can recall was in offer 401. Cam was encouraging discretion and he said something like let’s call this “Project Boom Boom” on an offer that was fairly clearly a certain well known producers . After that term was thrown around more recently, I kept wondering if it was code for wine from that vineyard family. So I can see where someone, including myself, could’ve missed that the new meaning was more general to a “big bold wine”.

All that to say. I don’t find the question asking to be as snarky as others do. (But I don’t want to dismiss the opinions of those who do). I don’t find it similar to the recent posts that were aggressively dismissive of nDA wines… I find question askers in life to be part of what keeps me sharp and honest. If there were a few more camx fans in San Antonio/Austin area I’d totally love to have Larry and a bunch of you over to try 5-10 cam wines and a few Larry wines and we all learn and enjoy the experience

I have no horse in this race, but maybe buying a few of Cam’s wines and giving people your own opinion would give your activity here more credibility. It’s not a Hughes  investment.

Larry I’d love to try some of your wines as you have a great variety to explore. Are you planning anything for berserker day or sooner like a variety pack or WB bundles?
