Cam X Wine Company

That small glass looks like what a six pack of Tiramisu comes in from Costco, we have stacks of them in our kitchen cabinet. perfect for refilling with a fresh cooked Jello pudding, lol.

I too think the new branding is excellent. I get quoting Bobby McFerrin in the context but just so I am clear, I continue to be more than happy with Cam’s recommendations, his prices, their write-ups etc…but not exactly feeling chuffed having seen and read the original poster Enshua’s photo or feedback on Lot 12
Unfortunate that it was the very first Cam X feedback and on a Lot # that I, and I suspect many others, highly anticipate. Perhaps Enshua will kindly provide us with further photos and commentary now that his opened bottle has passed the 24 hr mark. Anyway, it’s time to pull a cork and say cheers!

Color and density look far more encouraging thanks :wine_glass:

Thanks for the new info on 19, I missed the initial offering too.

Diving into battle this evening. Good for you, enjoy and obviously would love to know your feedback on Lot 12 too, Monsieur :wine_glass:

Thanks Steve!
I double dipped on #19, big smile
Mikko liked it. “Mikey likes it!” I’m in again.
My “Balance Sheet” has not had a single debit (except the paid off monthly CC bill) since January 2001! :four_leaf_clover::four_leaf_clover::four_leaf_clover:
Big smile
Thank you for the encouragement!!! :wine_glass:

Steve,
I was just thinking, and that’s usually dangerous.
BUTT,
After Cam‘s first four barrels of lot #19 sold out within mere hours, perhaps, he was able to acquire the other two barrels he was hoping to get?
However it worked out, it worked out well!!!
I’m happy to order a second case!!
Thanks

My feedback on #12:
Very Nice Label.!

Won’t pull a cork for many months.
3 cases is enough for me, either I will like it or not?
I’ll know in the fullness of time.
I’ll let you know then.

note

Already 2049 posts on this delicious thread, I just got my first bottles.
Wowser :hotdog:

Here’s day 2 for #12.
I know to post these tasting notes to the what-cam-x-wine-are-you-drinking-tonight in the future, but just wanted to close this out here.

I guess the color does depend on the angle of the light and background.
Tonight the nose is so fragrant with pink cotton candy cheesecake perfume. I could inhale this all day. IT’s very nice! Though it takes a little time for the alcohol to blow off on the nose.
The palate is less fruity tonight; there’s more black and blue fruit rather than the red red from yesterday. I’m starting to taste a slight bitterness, some leather suitcase melted in a mouthful of swirling smooth almost creamy black cherry flower petals. There is still a TON of tannins. My Gosh, my whole mouth is filled with tannins. Maybe one of the most tannic wines I’ve ever had.
The soapy taste from yesterday is still barely perceivable but I think it may be oak. I may have mis-characterized it as soapy. I still get that taste but it’s actually a taste that give this wine it’s fundamental character. It’s not bad at all. I just don’t know how to describe it.

I appreciate the nice review of #12 by KhaN at what-cam-x-wine-are-you-drinking-tonight.
What CAM X wine are you drinking tonight? - #15 by KhaN?

I would agree with KhaN’s excellent review except I didn’t think the alcohol was that strong. I could chug this down very easily. I did start sampling some bourbon last week but I’m not a regular bourbon whiskey drinker. Still I didn’t even notice the 15% alc before KhaN mentioned it. I did notice a bit of alcohol on the nose, though.

I would give #12 :wine_glass: :wine_glass:

Right now I would still prefer 385, 250, 278
But I think this is a great start for Cam X!!!

and yes those costco tiramisu shot glasses are a ton easier to wash and dry than wine glasses for everyday

We think the oak is a little too crazy right now hence the overpowering alcohol sensation. This belongs in the depth of cellar at least 2 years before it’s approachable to me.

That’s what a dishwasher is for. Never hand wash your wine glasses. In fact, there are threads here where I asked that very question, and our wine glass purveyors told me to stop doing it and just wash them in the dishwasher.

My “every day” wine glasses are just basic Riedels or Glasvins and I throw them in the dishwasher with reckless abandon and only time they break, it’s because I’m an idiot and let something fall/hit them.

The expensive glasses I have, same thing, in the dishwasher they go, but I usually run them separately.

There is no reason to suffer wine from a costco tiramisu shot glass.

This is not a wine review.

I’ve had the same experience - although I just went with a single case of #17. Storage capacity is limited, which is just one of the reasons I’m squeamish about buying case-lots of things I haven’t had a chance to try (and in this instance, no one has as yet) but I’ve been persuaded by the commentary here.

Any opinions on whether Berman’s list or the CamX Cellar list is more accurate? Or is it all still a big guessing game?

CamXCellar list is garbage at this point.

I think that Cam X Cellars is a good resource and provides a good counterpoint just in case we miss something (being AI versus human), but Berman’s list is king. Just gotta get em to realize the Black Bart! :pirate_flag:

Let’s see AI try to drink 5+ cases of Cam X wine. I’m pretty sure I still have my job. Also, I did move it into first place on that list now. I agree with your assessment, but until I guess someone confirms Fayard is still around, the others remain a possibility. But really, pretty low considering we know lots has been sourced already from Krupp and Blackbart Syrah otherwise fits perfectly. Plus, we already know he also sourced from B Cellars and the same winemaker is at Venge and both are Stagecoach products, so it’s a challenging guess. Either way, it should be great syrah if that is your style.

LOL, of all the wines this is the worst possible wine to have shipped first sigh…I tasted it last week looking at wines to start showing people and this was last on my list, its so effin shocked up right now.

However, something not right about that color…not sure if its light coming through the bottom of the glass or a flash…

OK - that looks better…
