Glad you got it to work. I pinged chat support (as mine was not working) this morning and they said it (newfriends50) expired on the 19th. It allowed me to add it, but mysteriously disappeared upon finalizing the order.
Zachys also provide free 90 days storage. I usually order a few bottles each time when there is a code or discount, and then ship them as a case.
NFSM22M gets you $20 off $50 at WDC
I don’t recall seeing this in this thread . . . I received in the mail a $100 gift code (with complimentary shipping included!) to Benchmark from Amex Platinum. No minimum purchase and it expires in Jan 2023.
It came in a fancy blue heavy stock envelope and the card says “A moment to reward you with appreciation from American Express.”
Some people received gifts from Amex. I received a free hotel stay at a beach resort.
I’ve received other gifts from Amex Platinum over the years, but this is the first time it’s wine related and something I will 100% use!
Thanks, grabbed a '15 Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino Barolo Bussia Cascina Dardi for $30. Less than a dollar for every letter in the name seems like a deal right?
These $20 off $50 are the hardest coupons to use on WDC. Always 10+ great options…but only one bottle of wine to pick. (Or two if you’re looking for daily drinkers).
$51.99 bottle at WDC. Thanks for the heads up, @J_Bloch
$50 WDC gift cards are 13% off on Raise at the moment, too (though it looks like the 1-2% cash back offers on Raise from TCB and Rakuten are gone). Grabbed one of those to use with the 20/50 on a '20 Faury St. Joe VV (with 3.15% WDC cash back at TCB). Have $12 left over for next time…
WDC canceled two orders paid for with gift cards. . Multiple discussion with CS, policy is gift cards are only accepted when purchased directly from WDC. Good luck.
That’s an interesting and disturbing new development. When did you place those orders and how long thereafter did they cancel them? I’ve never had that happen (and have placed plenty of WDC orders with gift cards), but I haven’t had any orders shipped since the Spring due to weather, so if this is new in the past few months it’s worth figuring out what the parameters are. I have a few such orders set to ship over the next 2-3 weeks, so we’ll see.
Orders placed within last 6 months. Held shipping for weather. Orders canceled within a few days of expected ship date.
See attached.
Day-um. Well, I’ll certainly hold off on placing any more such orders and see how I do with my upcoming orders. I have a couple scheduled to ship on Monday. Thanks for the tip.
Curious, did you buy the card(s) in question on Raise, or on a different third-party site? Not sure if that will make a difference, but it might.
That is pretty nuts. WDC are selling eGC though third parties, and now declining to honor them? Clearly there is some kind of issue - which is a constant problem with gc - but its gotten so bad that even the ones that were ‘newly issued’ are being rejected.
Trying to get help from a gc (re)seller isn’t going to go anywhere - they’ll just blame the merchant and gird for a chargeback. I have never felt the incremental advantage of buying discounted gc makes much sense, absent some other super compelling incentive. The downside of one being zeroed just blows out a lot of prior ‘savings’.
I know I sound like a broken record on this, but the whole industry runs on massive amounts of breakage, roughly 8% in aggregate.
2019 Frederic Esmonin Nuits-St-Georges Les Hauts Pruliers at $50.99. $30.99 after coupon with 2% Rakuten Cash Back. These coupons start to put Burgundy back into a reasonable price point. $44 was the W-S low on the west coast.
Somebody must be spending lots of money on wine with their slab of silver !!!
Thanks for the tip!
2018 DuPuis Baker Ranch Syrah for $31.99 plus 2% Rakuten cashback. Yes please.
I’ve revised a few previous posts because I had issues with Google Pay, but they still offer 5% and I’ve added the offer many times. Granted, I had one or two disappear and had a very lengthy and annoying customer service interaction. They eventually credited me, but only after I sent many emails asking for them to identify the specific terms of the offer they said I violated.
