My 3 orders got ship today, and has this same issue. The amount is too small to fight for it (500 amex points total). 
Just saw in one of my Amex:

Seems to be working fine as far as I can tell. Maybe try selecting different items. Sometimes zachys has hidden exclusions.

Edit: Spoke too soon. It was removed once I got to order confirmation. I tried to get my hands on a mag of Charles Heidsieck Vintage Brut 2005 at $199 down from $279 (+ a $10 Vinho Verde to get me over $200).
It might just be that already promoted bottles don’t count. I have however done this before with the tripple dip (Sale+Amex+Coupon).

I too got the code to work on a 2012 DP…but once I got to see what the shipping was, $64, it totally wiped out any savings. Are there any tricks to getting the shipping for a decent price?

If you live near Zachys DC, you can also have them consolidate your orders there for a small fee and then pick up.
But yeah, Zachys’ shipping costs in general are absurd. Wonder how much revenue they lose because of it

The one other very modest tip is to ship full cases. For out of state orders, last time I ordered, it seemed like shipping was about $50 for the first bottle, then $1 for each additional bottle up to 12, with sales tax charged on those shipping costs. So shipping a full case got it down to maybe 1.5 times what others charge as opposed to several times what others charge.
