Has anyone tried this yet?
I like it. It’s got a peach/apricot flavor to it. Not your typical gin.
Great with tonic. Not so great in a negroni.

Why would you even think about a Negroni using this?

My husband made Negronis with it not knowing the flavor profile.

Does he know when Memorial Day is?

@Abbie_S I’ll find it and buy a bottle and take it for a spin. I don’t particularly like Negronis as I think the bitter elements overwhelm the gin, a lot, so am not worried on that front. I’ve had all of the other Cabinet offerings, and currently have in my cabinet all of them but the Midsummer, which I drank through and haven’t rebought. I like to see what they offer, even if they end up on a lower shelf in my cabinet most of the time. Still a big fan of Orbium in the dead of Texas’s brutal summers. The citrus and bitter cinchona bark notes make for a very refreshing gin and tonic.

I like the Orbium, as well.
I wasn’t a big fan of the Flora Adora.

Has anyone here tried the Ki No Bi ‘Go’ or the ‘Old Tom’ versions?

I have more and more found myself going back to traditional London Dry gins, especially for martinis. For the G&T, some of the more modern gins are wonderful, but i think they are starting to jump the shark. I had one the other day (sorry don’t know the name as it was served to me) that had a seaweed finish. Awful idea and awful execution.

After having tried a myriad of gins, I keep coming back to good old Tanqueray (the classic regular one).

Was my first love and I’ve very much returned to them lately. SipSmith pretty much nails it for me but I’d love to get my hands on the Old Raj’s again to retry.
It funny how with all the “modern” gins regular Hendricks seems pretty tame.

Might be good in cooking. But sounds unlikely as a drink n

I like no 10 in Negronis.

Curious about the crew’s thoughts on best gin for a Vesper, using a classic recipe of 3-1-.5 parts Gin-Vodka-Cocchi Americano or 2oz-.5oz-.25oz. depending on mood. Vodka is either Ciroc, Kettle One, or Reyka depending on what I happen to have on hand. I used Sipsmith VJOP on the 3-1-.5 recipe and felt the very junipery pop plus over proof plus bitter note from the Cocchi was not a very good fit.

Maybe something with a touch more citrus?

Nikka Coffey Gin is current favorite with Fever Tree Indian Tonic. Not a juniper bomb, more citrus forward with juniper backnotes. Refreshing, recommended.

I like Citadelle when I’m looking for a citrus profile. I like it in a G&T in summer, gives more of a lemon highlights.

Also plays nicely with yellow chartreuse in an Alaska. Had one recently and again liked the lemony notes. Think it would do well with Vodka if you are looking for that flavor
