Thanks Poppy. I did come across them in my search. Of course they couldn’t be much farther away in the city from where I live. Haha. A bit of an exaggeration.
There are at least two other facilities in D.C., if not three (the third might no longer offer that service.) And at least a couple not too terribly far outside the city, one up near BWI and the other in Virginia.
I agree, though, with your low bar assessment if we’re thinking of the same place, and that’s why I switched my stash there over to Domaine late last year.
I’m sure we’re talking about the same place, and I couldn’t be happier that Domaine went and cleared out my locker from there last year. I was not aware of the others (although I did hear of a traditional storage rental place that allegedly had some temperature-controlled units for rent – maybe on U Street?).
I contacted Domaine and plan on heading out there Saturday to take a look around. I’m just so pissed that my Le Cache is too big for my apartment. I HATE not having all my wine on hand looking pretty and being easily accessible.
I’ve stored at Domaine since they first opened last Fall, and I’ll agree with the others, been really happy there.
A few friends and I usually hang out in the lounge there on Saturday afternoons with a few bottles open…we’re planning to be there again this Saturday, so say hi and have a glass (or two) with us if you like!
A-ha! That’s one of the other places that I forgot about. It was my understanding that they were full and had a waiting list, at least as of a couple years ago. If they lost any significant number of clients to Domaine, maybe they have space now.
I’ve used WWW for several years but got space at Domaine when they first opened and have been moving stuff over gradually. Very happy with Domaine’s service and accessibility.
Well looks like I’ll be seeing some of you on Saturday in that case. Where do you park? I don’t frequent that area very often, so not sure what the parking is like.
If you’re lucky, you can get street parking on Connecticut, but more likely you will have to settle for parking in the garage under the Giant, which is accessible from the side street (Veazy or something).
