He actually went out and bought a bottle of it just to pour down the drain and take that picture.

Indeed it was! The 1966 wasn’t half bad either!
If the wine is not corked, but just undrinkable upon opening, I’ll set it aside for 24 hours. On the second day, if it is still undrinkable then it goes down the drain without hesitation. Why torture oneself?

There was a time when I used to suffer through bad wines because the price tag was pressuring me to do so. Nowadays, I’m finding I’m less and less concerned about how much money was spent, and more and more concerned over how much I truly enjoy the wine in my glass. What say you?
