White Burgundy Tasting Group

Is anyone interested in, or know of any White Burgundy focused tasting groups in the NY area? Specifically, something focused more on the higher end (i.e - Coche, Lafon, etc).

If not, is anyone interested in a group like this? I am thinking of starting one (if one doesn’t exists). The goal would be to get together every 6-8 weeks or so at a nice restaurant and of course drink and share white Burgundy.

Some themes that I would like to try:

  • Premier Cru Puligny Montrachet
  • Just Coche
  • Vertical of Lafon Meursault Charmes
  • Pick a vineyard and a year and let’s compare producers

Send me a note or post if you or anyone you know would be interested in this kind of group. Once we get enough interest I will coordinate a date and venue.

Sounds great. Though my Coche stock is slim to non-existent. Can we call it the “Slumming It White Burg Group”? How about a blind head to head with high end Cali Chard as well?

I’m interested, however my budget is limited and I don’t have high end burgs in my cellar. So, I’m interested in future posts…

Slowly but surely. No need to limit people with only super high end. The point is to taste and learn about white burgundy. Let’s get a handful more people and put together a tasting that will suit eveyones interest.

I’m a big fan of white Burgundy but have a limited cellar. I could jump in on any theme than I can source an acceptable bottle.

Pick a date and I’ll bring my 2004’s Jadots. I think I have like 7-8 different ones.

How about April 27th or 28th or 29th. I will bring all 2004 Jadots that I have in the cellar, probably 7 or 8 if not more so nobody would need to bring a bottle.

Exclusively Manhattan or is Westchester Co. (with incredibly accessible Metro-North option) open to discussion?
