Which Carlisle are you drinking?

I might pop an '09 CVZ today or later this week, sounds like it is drinking well.

In the last week I have opened both a 2008 DCV Syrah and a 2010 DCV Zin. Both were very tasty and drinking well.

Popped the '11 Pagani. '11 from Carlisle is definitely a great vintage and this wine is no disappointment.

Opened the '11 carlisle vineyard zin - delicious! So smooth and easy drinking. I usually hold out on this vineyard a bit longer than some of the others, but I have quite a few of these so I opened one and glad I did.

Thanks for the heads-up, Sherri. I’ll have to pop one of these soon.

I too generally wait some years before popping CVZ, but the '12 is drinking very nicely.

'12 Two Acres, It’s simply just not ready. Both the '11 and '13 are drinking better at this point. Hold these for 3-4 more years before opening if you have them.

Just opened a 2012 Sonoma County Zin to go with ribs.

2011 Dry Creek Valley Zin for superbowl - improved over time and I’m in no rush to open another bottle.

Over the past few days I opened my last 2006 Cardiac Hill Syrah and 2008 Montafi Zin. Both are in a very good place and neither showed any signs of fading. The zin could have used an hour or two of air, but it was a last minute decision to open a bottle.

OK so between the '10 and '11 Carlisle Bedrock Zins recently I feel the need to say that these might need some time to integrate, or at least quite a bit of air. Very tight as p&ps and better as day two or three drinks. Might try '12 and '13 soon to test the waters since the Limerick Lane version from '13 drank extremely well last spring.

2012 Two Acres last night

2013 Rossi Ranch Grenache.

Just a delicious wine with all kinds of warm baking spices, and cloves with blue fruits. More subdued in day 2 and I actually preferred it more day 1. Probably drink my other one in the next year or two.

2012 Three Birds. Tasty.

Just had a 2010 Martinelli Road Zin that was outstanding. Bright acidity, rich brambly fruit (blueberry & raspberry), pepper, touch of spice and a very smooth finish. No noticeable heat on a pop n pour.

2013 SC Syrah

I thought this was outstanding for the $$. I have one left.

Just opened the '09 CVZ.
Showing great without air. Very good acidity keeps the wine lively on the palate. This will likely drink well for several years but I see no reason to wait.

Side by side 09s

Carlisle Vineyard. Beautiful, classy, great balance

Monte Rosso. Stunning. Already a top 5 wine of the year so far for me and the most impressive I’ve tasted alongside of many Montafis over 10 plus years on the mailing list. Unreal.

I drank my MRs early since I tried to follow Mike Os advice, sounds like I should have saved some.
Btw the '03 CVZ is still drinking nicely. Have one more bottle left that I need to dig out.
