What YEAH! wine are you drinking?

Hi Chris- I see your appointment in Feb. I will make sure I have an Evangelho Mourvèdre there for you to taste. I look forward to hosting you!

2021 Evangelho tonight, and it desperately needed 90 minutes of air. Once it got it the aromatics completely opened up and the palate picked up that Evangelho sapidity. Really good, but give it air.

2021 Extradimensional Wine Co. Yeah! Merlot Mariana’s Vineyard — Good stuff with 2+ hrs of air. Unlike any other Merlot I’ve had and it works!

BTW, when I opened the Innervisions II the other day I thought it was a DIAM cork staring back at me, rather than the sugar cane corks Hardy had been using for a while.

2022 Marvelous Mourvèdre - keep this one a few years more or drink it over a couple nights. On night one tasty but a little simple/glou glou, but the following afternoon it blossomed. Radiant florals, orange peel, cran-raspberry, light but powerfully flavorful and aromatic. Oh Yeah!

2021 Higher Love
So many EWCY wines are defined by their gentle touch that this one threw me for a little bit of a loop for being on the (pleasantly) rustic side. Think of this wine in the carafe at your ideal red-checkered-tablecloth bistro (or trattoria - EWCY wines have universal application). The mostly red-toned fruit pops just a little bit bolder than the EWCY norm and it’s got a satisfying level of tannic grit. Once again I had to look back to the email to get an idea of the grape blend, which was zinfandel, mourvedre, and grenache in descending proportions curiously adding up to 120% (that’s the extradimensional aspect), which is pretty far off from what I would have guessed - feeling more country, less Mediterranean, and as for zinfandel, WHAAAAA? Hardy calls it “your ultimate burger wine.” I get that.

But was Chaka Khan singing backup?

One of my all time faves in the line-up. Sadly drank all mine already.

Thank you, Justin!

We over-deliver
Higher Love has that raw and rustic vibe. It pops red/ripe/old vine.

A local brew pub with killer BBQ brisket and burgers ran this BTG last year. It was a perfect match.

Thank you! Us, too- we have a library of only 2 bottles

I still gots 5 somewhere in storage! Gonna be a good summer….

Such a lovely wine. Pure white peach and fuji apple, savory low tide marine notes, medium-light weight but fine textured highlighted by a touch of friendly tannin, with a pinch of bitters on the back. A bit of chaparral honey with garrigue on the finish.

23’ Brosseau Chardonnay
Wow this one is amazing. Picked it up when I was in the tasting room last fall. My wife is not a Chardonnay fan at all, but immediately asked if we had more!
Love the smooth & subtle texture on this wine. Such a wonderful mouthfeel. Great Job Hardy!

Has anyone opened a Brosseau Pinot Noir? Really curious on this one. Might have to open one of my 22’s soon.

Not yet, but please let us know your findings.

I actually opened a 2022 tonight. Really simple and overtly cranberry/watermelon. I put a stopper in it and opened a different wine. Will check back tomorrow.
